the boy and his goose
among the reeds
two bodies huddled under the dusky sky
one human, one fowl
heads bowed, crowns joined
both pair of eyes peeled in wonder
admiring the miracle of nature
one proud of what he has found
the other proud of what she has made
Both agreeing there was nothing like it;
her nest more precious than pearls
his fowl treasure to guard
