I woke up feeling nothing at all. I know that my alarm clock will ring in about 2 hours because I always wake up at this time. I heard the rain drops splattering against my window. It was winter but it was raining instead of snowing. It hadn't been snowing for years. The only thing I could think about was getting up. As always I didn't know whether to skip school or not. Getting out of my bed would bring me nothing. The emptiness I felt wouldn't be gone even if I would get up. But like every morning I would decide to get up. Because skipping school would bring me nothing as well.

I turned off my alarm clock and got up, already regretting my decision. I made my way to the bathroom and looked into the mirror. With my fingers I pushed the corners of my mouth up and scoffed afterwards. I then brushed my teeth and got ready for school.

I was living by myself. My parents once left to go to work and never came back. That's why I was raised up by my grandmother. But she passed away when I was 16. That was 1 year ago. And now I have to take care of myself.

I was sitting in the living room and staring out of the window. It was still raining. I honestly didn't know why I felt the way I did. I started feeling like that when my parents left. I had thought that I was worth nothing and I wasn't good enough and that's why they left. My grandmother proved me wrong. She told me to stay strong even though sometimes it was hard for me to do so. But she left me as well. And now I was in the same state as 6 years ago. But this time I didn't have anyone.

When I checked the time on my phone I gasped. School started in about 15 minutes and I was still comfortably sitting on my couch. So I stood up, pulled my hoodie over my head and ran out of my apartment.

I luckily arrived at school just in time. The bad thing was that I was completely drained. But it stopped just as I entered the school. I sat down on my seat just as the teacher came in.

The school day went by pretty quickly. I was on my way to the grocery store when I remembered something. I forgot my math book. So I made my way back to school. As I got there I heard some other students talking.

" Yeah she honestly looks like a zombie. Have you seen her eyes? Everytime I look at her I just start to pity her even more than I already am. What a sad life she must have."

I already knew who they were talking about. I actually didn't like when people were pitying me. I just found that annoying. I didn't need any pity from anybody.

"Yes I agree. I mean no harm but she should go see a psychologist. She affects the whole school with her depressed vibes. I mea--" She stopped talking when I walked past them. I ignored their stares and made my way to my classroom. I immediately saw my book laying on the floor under my table. I picked it up and left the classroom. The group of girls was gone and now I was the only one standing in the hallway. I quickly walked out of the school while stuffing my book in my bag.

I entered the grocery store and was instantly greeted by hundreds of people. It was Friday so of course it would be crowded. Everyone wants to buy their groceries for the weekend. And so do I. So I quickly got a shopping cart and made my way inside the massive crowd of people. It was almost impossible to get through. The actual amount of people startled me. It had never been this many people. Normally there would be 10 people in one section but today I couldn't even walk properly without bumping into another person. It was like tomorrow everyone would die so everyone's trying to get as many things as possible to survive the apocalypse. I was trying my best not to fall when someone just fully crushed into me. I frowned and reached for the milk. When I got everything I needed, I went to pay. It was even more crowded at the checkstand. I grimaced and stood in line.

Once I got out of the store I took a deep breath in and started making my way back to my apartment. Just as I made the first step, the rain started pouring down again. Great. Just great. I tried my best to protect the bags with the groceries from getting all wet. After all i forgot to take an umbrella with me this morning. I ran through the empty streets, hugging the bags while I did so. The rain just got heavier so I decided to go into the next café that I would see. The nearest one was a cozy looking one with lots of pillows and the smell of coffee coming out of it. When I entered the small café, the first thing I noticed was the fact that I was the only one in this café. With that in mind I sat down on one of the chairs facing the big window next to the entrance. I heard a door being opened from behind me. I turned around and saw a man waving at me. When he saw that I was all wet he mumbled something and left through the door he came from. He came back a short time after that and handed me a towel. "Here. Dry yourself with that.", he said. The man was in his mid-sixtys and had a very friendly look on his face. A look I don't see often when people talk to me. They looked at me with pity most of the time. That's why I avoided talking to people. "Why were you out in the rain?", the man asked while sitting down next to me. "I went grocery shopping and then it started raining." I kept my reply short while I was still staring out of the window. The rain was just getting worse. Looks like I have to stay here for a while. And what's your name kiddo?" "Miyeon", I said while finally turning towards him, not wanting to seem rude. "Oh. That's a beautiful name. My name's Beomseok.", he smiled as he said that. Something about him made me want to cuddle into his arms. He would be the perfect dad. "Dad where should I put this bo--" A guy walked in, a box in his hand. He stopped talking when he saw me. "Who's that?", he asked while walking to our table, the box still pressed against his chest. He placed the box next to our table and sat down as well. "This is Miyeon. She just came into our Café because of the heavy rain." "Oh no. That wasn't the only reason. It looked pretty comfortable from outside. And I actually wanted to warm up a bit since the rain was cold. So do you mind making me a tea?" Wow ok. That was the longest sentence I've ever said. "Of course", Beomseok said while getting up, "I'll be right back."

"Hello Miyeon. ", the guy said while placing his hands on the table, "I'm Taehyung." And then he smiled at me. The most beautiful smile I had ever seen in my life. And for the first time for what felt like an eternity I smiled back. I was a bit startled because until that moment I had never done something like that before. The only person I had ever shown my smile was my grandmother. And never have I ever thought to do something like that even though I just met the person.

I jumped a bit when a mug was suddenly placed in front of me. "Here's your tea." I looked up and saw Beomseok smiling at me. "Thank you. ", was all I could say, still confused about the fact that I just smiled back.

It stopped raining about 1 hour later. I decided that it was now time to finally go home. I actually really liked it here. It was very comfortable talking to those 2, even though I just met them.

"I'll go home now. ", I said and got up. "Alright my dear. I hope you have great day. ", Beomseok said and got up as well. As if you actually care... "Bye Miyeon! ", Taehyung said and waved at me.

On my way home, the only thing I could think about was that one smile that just won't get out of my head. It was everything I could think about. And I hated that fact that it affected me this much. So I quickly walked home before it started raining again.

I walked into my apartment and threw the bags with groceries onto the kitchen counter. I made my way into my bedroom and changed out of my clothes.

While putting the things in the fridge I noticed that I forgot to buy bread. I decided to go and buy it the next day because it was already dark outside.

I laid down on my bed and closed my eyes. I already knew that I would never ever in my life fall asleep after what happened today. Because every time I closed my eyes I could see Taehyung smiling. And it made me flustered. Of course have people smiled at me before. But I've never felt the way I did when Taehyung smiled at me. And I even smiled back. And that's why I'm confused.

And now I didn't know what to do. My grandmother would be proud of me. Oh god my grandmother. I missed her so much. And in that moment I started crying again. Because like every night I felt lonely. Because I did have nobody. Nobody but myself. And that really is a sad life. Just like the girl at school said.

I left the grocery shop and was about to go home. It was a rainy day like every single day in that winter. I didn't know what to do this weekend so I decided to walk a bit through the streets. But this time I brought an umbrella with me. That was very clever of me because it immediately started raining again when I made my first step. Am I cursed or something?

Then I saw a familiar café. I frowned because my feet were instantly walking over to the entrance. Before I could turn around and leave again, the door was opened.

"Oh hello Miyeon ", Beomseok said while gesturing me to come in. I entered the small café not wanting to seem rude, and sat down on the same chair I sat yesterday.

The café wasn't full at all. I saw 3 or 4 people sitting together in the corner of the room. And that was it.

The chair next to made a creaking sound and someone sat next to me. I turned to the side and instantly turned to the front again, my eyes wide.

"Hey Miyeon!", Taehyung said and smiled at me. Oh god please stop smiling... I got a strange feeling in my stomach.

"Hey...", I said while fiddling nervously with my hands.

"Would you like to have a tea?"

"Yes that would be nice, thank you."

"Alright, I'll be right back." Taehyung got up.

I didn't know what's going on with me. Every time he smiled at me by cheeks were getting even hotter.

He came back with two filled mugs. "Here. ", he said while sitting down and placing the mug in front of me. "Thank you. ", I mumbled. "So... ", he started talking, "how old are you?". I turned to look at him when suddenly the front door was being opened.

"Hey Tae Tae !" Two boys came in. " Today's the day!" One boy said while making his way over to our table. "You ready to lose that bet?" The other guy was joining him.

"I didn't lose though." , Taehyung said while looking at me.

"Ohh." , one guy said while looking at me as well. "So that must be your girlfriend then?"
