Meeting Him...

It was the last day of April,Tuesday night. A teen girl was sound asleep until a creak in the floorboards roused her out of a blissful dream. She groggily sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she blearily checked the time.

"Uhg...Mabel, it's past midnight. What are you doing?" The girl peered around for her dog, however she wasn't there. 'Mom must've came and let her out of my room. So then what made that noise?' She noticed that some of her stuff was moved in to her view from behind the footboard of her bed; as if something was hiding just out of view. She slowly crawled to the foot of her bed and peeked over the edge.

"Ah!" A hand slapped over her mouth to silence her yell.

"Shhhh..." The figure exclaimed while pushing her back onto her pillow. It sounded like a boy. Judging by his voice, he was around her own age, 18 or 19. "Shut up or I'll slit your neck before you can make another sound." His deep voice sounded harsh and jagged as the threat escaped his lips. The girl nodded quickly, careful that the cold, sharp knife against her neck didn't draw any blood. As he removed his hand and went to finish the job he came to do, silent tears escaped her blue eyes.

"Please." She quietly whimpered. "Wait." He hesitated at the last second.

"What." He coldly responded.

"C-could I turn on the light?" He cocked his head.

"Why?"

"I don't like not seeing what's in front of me. Especially when it is a person." A dark chuckle escaped his throat.

"Sure." His silhouette retreated to the end of the mattress. As she slowly sat up and reached for her lamp to the left of her bed, she made sure to keep the dark figure in sight out of the corner of her eye. As light illuminated the small room, she gasped at the nightmare-like boy in front of her.

His black messy hair reached his shoulders and his piercing  blue eyes looked almost white. There were dark circles around his eyes and it seemed like he had no eyelids. His eyes were just forever wide open. The more she examined him, the more frightening he appeared. His leathery, paper white skin seemed to glow in the dim light. The most horrifying feature was his mouth. He seemed to have cut a glasgow smile into his cheeks. A small amount of blood seepped from the wound, his white hoodie stained in red.

"Woah..." The girl had to stop herself from reaching out to touch his face. He looked at the red haired girl with curiosity.

"You're not scared? Everyone seems to think I'm hideous but I think I'm gorgeous!" She stared into his black rimmed eyes and unintentionally spoke softly.

"I don't think you're hideous..." Surprise flitted across his unique features, but he quickly shook his head, clearing his mind of her comment.

"Any other requests?" He asked mockingly. She wasn't sure if she was just imagining it, but his voice seemed less hostile.

"I suppose. I-I guess before you, you kill me," Tears welled up in her eyes but continued to shakily speak. "I just got the feeling that you were upset. Of course it's just a guess, but you seem to have gone through a lot. So, I guess, if you wanted to like, I don't know, talk to someone about anything, you could talk to me? I- nevermind. It's stupid." The shaking girl whispered the last bit as she faced her lap, gripping the blanket as her tears spilled onto her hands.

Unseen to her, the boy was completly taken aback. Never had he ever met someone who didn't care about his looks nor been able to see through his facade. Through his own thoughts, he heard a soft voice.

"Please just, just do it quickly..."

For a few moments, the girl didn't heard any movement in front of her. She peeked open her eyes to see the boy holding out a small gray stuffed wolf from behind her bed. She weakly laughed.

"T-thanks." She gently took the comfort object from his rough hand, her finger accidentally brushing against his. He jerked his hand back and went to crawl back out of the open window he had apparently came through initially. "Wait! You're leaving? You're not going to finish it?" The confusion was evident on her face. He turned to face her once more.

"No. But I will see you again, Lucia." and with that, he leaped out the window that was a few meters off the ground. Exhaustion hit Lucia's body all at once. The last thought that ran through her mind before she passed out was

'How did he know my name?'
