Chapter One

The sun came up slowly and brightened the dark sky. Sun streamed through the windows, waking up a sleeping Abby. She groaned, stretching her arms above her head before getting out of bed. Walking over to the bathroom to get ready for her first day of school, she looked in the mirror and decided to take a warm shower. She stripped off her clothes from the night before, which she had fallen asleep in while reading a book, and hopped into the warm shower allowing the water to wake her up.

“I can't believe its September seventh already,” she said to herself as she stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around her slim body.

Abby walked into her closet and picked out a pair of faded ripped skinnies, a white V-neck, and black converse. She applied a small amount of mascara and eyeliner and quickly brushed her teeth. Realizing she was late, she pulled her hair into a messy ponytail and ran for the door.

“Bye dear! Have a great first day,” her mother screamed after her.

“Yep, love you mom.” Abby yelled back as she pulled out her cell phone and dialed her best friend Maddie's number.

“Hey! What's up hot stuff?” Maddie said into the phone.

“I'm late, as usual on the first day.”

“I'll pick you up, see you in like five seconds,” she laughed as her car turned the corner. When she pulled up Abby hopped in the car and they sped off towards the school.

“Thanks.” Abby replied looking out the window.

“That's all I get?” she fake pouted, “You can thank me when you hook me up with that hot cousin of yours.”

“You wish!” she smirked at her best friend, “I just hope we have some hot guys this year, I mean come on it's been like two years I think we deserve some eye candy.”

“We are so on the same page!” Maddie said as the car arrived at a sudden stop. Abby glared at her, but proceeded to exit the car. Both girls walked to get their schedule and figured out they both had second period English and lunch together.

“See you at second!” Abby called running down the hall to science. Walking in she took a seat in the middle, and didn't pay attention to the teacher explaining what they needed for the semester. She already knew what she needed, and got it before hand. As the bell rang she met up with Maddie again as they walked to English together.

“So did you hear about the new, hot kid?” Maddie asked suddenly.

“You’re so lying. I haven't seen a hot kid in this school since Steven showed up.” she said wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

“Well it's true. But he's mysterious and apparently doesn't talk much.” she sighed.

“Oh well, I guess we'll find out.” Abby smirked walking into English. The two friends took a seat side by side and were talking until everyone around them seemed hushed. Abby looked up; into the eyes of the most gorgeous stranger she had ever seen.
