non of them in isle 2 had turned  into a child 

so that led them to quickly travel to isle 3 

"do you think that Cagney and Hilda were the only ones" asked mugman 

"well isle 2 was suspiciously empty but we still haven't seen everyone," cuphead said mischievously as they continued to walk towards the sea where Cala Maria lived 

"NO, you don't think it was actually.." asked mugman excitedly 

"one way to find out" cuphead said 

they across the beach to where the planes were placed 

and once again they were back into the air

"OH, I hope she turned" mugman squealed happily

only for the cup brothers to be sprayed with water and making the plane crash straight into the sea next to his brother 

gasping out for air and treading the water they both swam back to the land 

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT," cuphead asked/demanded 

only for a giggle to erupt from behind them, but as they turned around the figure went under the water and shot them with water at their backs 

the brothers screamed in shock while the figure began to laugh once again

The laughing wasn't cruel, more playful and...familiar

the brothers looked to where the figure was 

it was a tiny mermaid that had a purple frilly crop top, a green tail and long purple octopus-like hair, a tiny version of Cala maria

"Cala!" yelled mugman excitedly as he hugged the now tiny maria 

(kinda impressive how they were still swimming towards the shore)

"let go, I'm mad at you," she said as she struggled out of his grip

"oh, please cal, don't be mad," said mugman innocently

"humph" humped Cala maria as she folded her arms

"besides we know how we can help you," said cuphead, trying to join in the conversation

"oh really," asked Cala maria as she snuggled into mugman's chest   

"Yeah..but we've got to see if other people became..uh..like you," said cuphead sheepishly

"ok," said Cala maria as she closed her eyes and went to sleep in mugman's arms

mugman was screaming in the head at how cute it was

"well we need to find something to carry her in," said cuphead before realising two ells were following them

they were giving the brothers the "if you hurt her we will kill you look"

the cuphead gulped before realising that there was a small pile of litter, and along with that there was a plastic fishbowl

"We can fill it up and carry her in it until we get to our house," said cuphead with a proud look

"Sounds good," said mugman as he picked up the abandoned bowl

he filled it with seawater and gently placed the sleeping baby mermaid inside

"I'll carry her until we get back," said mugman as he was about to walk away

"I knew you would say that mug," said cuphead with an eye roll

mugman blushed and walked off with the sleeping Cala maria in hand

"BUT SHES SO CUTE," said mugman..more like yelled it

and with another cuphead eye roll, they carried on to the next civilians that lived in ink well isle
