Foreword

It was in 9th grade Literature class that I first read Because I Could Not Stop For Death by Emily Dickinson and I feel that somehow, five years later now, this poem was the trigger to my writing this short story.

Because if Life is a room flooded with light wherein the beautiful and the ugly, the marvels and the ruins, the angels and the demons come alive in the realm of visibility, Death is the dark, shadowy corner; a portal into the unknown.

This story, however, discusses none of that. From Time To Eternity is a story about love and its myriad facets. It celebrates the beauty of life in retrospect, through flashbacks that rush in during the eleventh hour.

I, for one, feel that I could never do this concept justice. Because sadly, my experience in the world of writing exceeds not the bare minimum and there are bound to be cringe-worthy metaphors and eye-rolling descriptions. Kindly excuse my amateur self. This is simply my best attempt.

Then again, everyone only ever makes attempts. Some better than the others.
