Chapter 100: 'Til Death Do Us Part

Start from the beginning

"Exactly Mom, which is why at the age of twenty and a half I can have one beer"

"Or two, or twenty" Carson laughs

I narrow my eyes at my son-in-law, giving him a threatening stare. Carson just shrugs me off and bursts into laughter. He is much more comfortable around us than Jamie is, however I don't really expect anything different considering we first met Carson when he was only hours old and we didn't meet Jamie until she was eight and Grace was nine; when they fell head over heels in love with each other.

At the age of 24 Lily and Carson fell pregnant and they had our gorgeous first grandchild Hope. Three years later they got married, before having their second baby Isaac. Grace and Jamie were in love when they were in elementary however, in high school Jamie moved away; they met again in university and their romance quickly sparked up again. At 25 they adopted their son Noah. Emerson is only 21 and still lives at home, being constantly smothered by Ali and I.

"By the way, where is Isaac?" Jamie asks, intertwining her hand into Grace's

"He's in Emerson's bed, with Noah" My daughter smiles at her wife; explaining that her son and nephew are asleep in her little brothers bedroom

Ali's pov

From the ages of twelve to twenty-four, I tried my best to run away from my unbearable feelings towards Emily, because when I looked towards my future I saw myself as a loving mom with children of my own and if I was with Emily I couldn't have children, I knew I couldn't have it all . That's why I married Elliot, because although I didn't love him the way I did Emily, he could give me the family I wanted. When I saw the personalised necklace for Emily I was terrified, not just because AD stole Em's eggs and impregnated me with them but because I no longer had an excuse to tell myself, why I couldn't admit my feelings towards Emily. That's why I finally told her that I love her, because I could finally have it all. Now I really do have it all, a loving wife, three gorgeous children and three beautiful grandchildren: Hope who is five, Noah who is four and Isaac who is two.

"Do I have food on my face or something?" Emerson asks when he realises that I am staring

"No. I'm just so proud of you all" I smile, looking around the room at my three grown up children

"We did it Alison" Emily laughs, wrapping her arms around my waist

"Yes we did. Together, as a family" I smile before kissing her cheek

It's been 30 years since Emily and I became girlfriends. 30 years since we had that conversation in the nursery.

"Speaking of being proud. Mom is Kendal ready for the olympics? She is in it right?" Emerson asks

"Yes she is, but..."

"But nothing. Mom you are a great coach" He smiles, walking over to Em and resting his arm over her shoulders

"Yeah Em, this is everything you have ever dreamt of" I smile with pride

"She will win, and even if she doesn't...which she will" Lily says, reassuring Emily "but if she doesn't, you have trained someone to become a professional swimmer. A professional swimmer in the fucking olympics" She smiles

"I see your foul language hasn't disappeared Lil" Emily laughs

"Sorry" Lily giggles, stepping closer to Carson

"We are just proud" she continues, burying her face in his chest

"Extremely proud" Emerson smirks as he kisses Emily's cheek
