Life. What is it really? Who are you? What will you do on this Earth? How will your actions present you? What will you say? What won't you say? How will your life story go.
My pale sweaty hands jolted with fear.
"Amber honey! What are you doing in there?'
Mom said on the other side of my scratched up, formerly white door which now appeared to be rotting on the inside, yet still on the hinges, barley holding on for dear life as the inner wood slowly gives out, exhausting its purpose. My mind drifted.
"Amber?" Mom questioned.
"Nothing Mom! Just...reading!" I voiced back. I didn't like to lie to Mom. But fibbing a little bit was sure as hell easier than pouring my heart out to her. By telling her that my thoughts ate away at me every second of everyday, i'd be giving her the green light to treat me differently, put me in therapy, and who knows what else. She just cant know. Neither can anyone else. It'd change their perception of me from a sweet bubbly, slightly fake girl to a nerdy philosophical maniac obsessed with the idea of life and purpose. By telling people who I really was, i'd ruin my reputation. Who even wants to know anyways? Everyone's too busy focusing on their own lives to be thinking of other people, right?
