This time when I got off the plane I expected to see Louis. I saw him first since he is taller than Malina and his curly hair was easy to recognize but I hugged Malina first. She is my best friend. "Happy Birthday," she said, handing me a small bag. Inside was a box with a brand new charm. Malina and I had matching charm bracelets since we were 7 and for our birthdays we would give each other a new charm. This one was a silver snowflake encrusted with diamonds to represent the fact that I lived at her house for the whole month of December and there was a blizzard while I was there.
"Thanks Mal," I say hugging her again. Then I threw my arms around Louis. He hugged me tight and we stood there together for a minute just happy to be together.
"I'm glad you're back," he said smiling.
"Me too," I tell him. "You said you had a question for me?" I ask.
"Yeah, uh, I was wondering if you wanted to get ice cream?" he asked me, blushing profusely.
"I'd love too."
