I ran as hard as I could, away from those nasty basters. Why did they do that? That's not how it's supposed to be! Why did they kiss each other, making out? I thought that American girls only loved American boys. But why did those girls kiss each other? There, in the middle of the locker room. It was disgusting. Don't they know what's right and what's wrong?
I ran past the classrooms, outside. I needed some air. What was going on?
I was raised with the love of God, my saviour. My parents always taught me to believe in him. I still do. When I heard I won a scholarship at Yale, I was so happy. Just like my parents. Before I left, they told me: "Some Americans don't know what's wrong, and what's right. There are a lot of sinning people in America, don't become one of them." I promised I wouldn't sin. I didn't understand what they were talking about. What sinning? What could be so bad, that my parents had to warn me about it? Now I understand. They are gay!
I walk outside, in the garden. Trying to make up my mind. Then I saw a group of girls, four girls, sitting on the grass. They wore short skirts and low shirts. They seemed nice, so I shoot my shot. I walked towards them, and sat next to them. They looked at me like they saw a ghost. They were shocked. The girl with the blue skirt said: ''what do you think you're doing?'' The one with the pink skirt said: ''Leave it, Shelly. Are you a newbie?'' I looked at her and said: ''Yeh, I'm here with a scholarship. My name is Sophie.'' The one with pink skirt, apparently she was the leader of the group, answered ''I am Susan. This are Shelly (blue skirt), Olivia (yellow skirt) and Lola (red skirt). But you've probably already heard about us.'' I didn't. But I nodded and said ''Yeah, yeah, you guys are pretty awesome.'' They all started to giggle and Susan said ''I know right! here is my number, now you can go.'' I was confused ''Can't I sit with you guys?'' Olivia, the short girl said ''Well, you're obviously only here to get our numbers, right?'' I didn't understand it at all. ''No, I wanted was, I don't know, to hang out with you guys?'' They looked surprised. ''Well okay, but class is about to start in 10 minutes, so we better go.'' before they walked away, Susan gave me her number, and a wink.
I made my way into the building and settled for my next class. What just happened?
