With messy hair, in my blanket, I stared at nowhere, finishing my book.
It was said to be for "kids" by the so-called "grown ups".
Years later, I was asked "Why are you still reading it, you're 18!" but how would they know that a part of my soul rested in it, rested within the pages of my favourite chapters, which when I read gave me peace, sweeter each time.
One can find soul anywhere, if they search for it. If we think that it's not meant for us, it'll never be ours. If we think ourselves great enough to know something, we'll never learn. One can educate themselves from the tiniest things. From a smiling "hello", that being kind to people will never stop being gold. From helping someone cross the road, that being helpful never goes in vain. From accepting defeat with dignity and respect for the opponent, that being fair is never forgotten.
It's not about what we watch, listen to or read about, it's about what we make out of it.
Books are just an example. Do whatever feels right to you. Be brave enough to read whatever you like, love who ever you want to, support what you think is right. It is your choice. People may think it's childish or too dark or too "not your type", but be bothered the least. Your choice cannot be good. Your choice cannot be bad. There is only one thing that it can be. Yours. Own it. Cherish it.
