Chapter Three

He never let go of my hand as her led me past the castle lush green lawn and onto a vanilla gavel path. The once starless sky was now covered with twinkling diamonds and a full moon sat in the sky bathing us in silver. It would have been romantic if it wasn’t for the fact I was with Callum, the most dangerous Alpha at the Unmated Ball!

“Where are you taking me?” I asked as he pulled with under arches of roses and honeysuckle, their scents filling the night air as the gravel crunched under our feet.

“I don’t know,” he threw a lazy grin at me. He pulled me around the corner and stopped, I hit his back hard with a groan.

“Why did you stop?” I stepped back and gasped. In front of me was a white bandstand covered in light and white roses. It was beautiful as I wondered closer climbing up the stairs to stand inside. I had dreamt of having a man take me to a bandstand covered in light and ask me to dance. That was all thanks to Hilary Duff and now I was here I couldn’t help but grin as I remembered that film. How I had wished for someone like Austin Ames.

I turned to Callum who was watching me with a smirk on his face. “This place is breathtaking,” I said as he nodded climbing the stairs towards me. I shifted uncomfortable turning but he grabbed my wrist pulling me towards his chest. I gasped my hand flying up and resting on his broad chest. His thick arms wrapping around my waist as I gazed up at him.

My heart thumped in my chest as my eyes widen, my hands had gone soft on his chest. What am I doing? What is he doing? I pushed at him, trying to get out of his grip.

“Get off me you pig,” I smacked at his chest. He chuckled letting me go. “What hell, do you think you were doing?” I said outraged.

*  “Well I thought that was quite clear,” he grinned stalking towards me. My eyes widened as I eased backwards but he still continued a smirk on his lips as I hit the edge of the bandstand. His gaze had flickered from my face before settling on my lips. My heart banged in my chest as he placed his hands on the rail either side of me, trapping me in place. Up close his eyes didn’t look like oiled gunmetal but the colour of a brooding storm and they glowed like strikes with lightning.

His musky scent filled my airways as he slowly leaned forward, brushing his mouth against mine. He groaned low in his throat, his eyes closing shut briefly at the small contact and pressed against me harder. He dipped down, his lips slanting over mine as he captured them in a soft embrace. He was gentle as if to tempt me and I couldn’t resist him much longer as my eyes fluttered shut when his tongue flicked across my lips. I wanted him to deepen the kiss but I couldn’t shut off my brain.

My mind was screaming at me to break away but my heart wanted more, my heart wanted him!

“Kiss me back,” he said against my lips and for some reason I did. I wrapped my arms around his neck bring him closer as I slowly brushed my lips against his velvety ones. I didn’t know what had come over me as my hands dug into his soft honey dip hair tugging lightly. He moaned against me and that’s when my mind shut off. I deepened the kiss letting my tongue dart across his, like he had done with me. He moaned taking over, cupping the back of my neck with one hand while the other rested on my waist. He nipped at my lower lip making me gasp with surprise as his tongue slipped in and started to stroke mine. I savoured his taste as our lips moved against each other as I lapped at his tongue, he returned with flicks of his as I shivered.

He suddenly broke away, pulling back. “You’re cold,” it was a statement more than a question.

“Maybe a little” I panted, I would never tell him the shiver wasn’t because the cool breeze. He drew back a little, shrugging out of his black jacket and wrapping it around my shoulder. I was enveloped in his warmth and musky scent but my mind was racing. How could I have gotten myself in this situation? I couldn’t have been unprepared for a situation like this. A sexual situation with a dangerous Alpha! I cursed myself for stupid as to take walk with someone like him.
