It had been a week, and Adam fitted perfectly in the tiny group of Anne's perfect circle. Regular meetings to class, fun lunches and class skipping together were the cherries on top of the cake to the success of their friendship. Not to mention, John's boyfriend was elated to find that Adam was more keen on leaning towards Anne for better support. In fact, not only Derek, but all of Anne's other friends and even her parents found the closeness between Adam and Anne quite exhilarating. Especially when Anne cheers with full excitement and determination when Adam plays football. Oh yes- he made it to the team.
Everything was seemingly perfect according to the group, and as they ended their school day, all of them went to hang out at their regular place, the coffee shop down the road. The one and only Carl's Caffeine Cave.
As they settled in their usual booth in the corner, Anne felt a flutter in her heart as Adam squeezed beside her, in the attempt of making space for everyone else.
"So," he started. "My parents had this small villa actually, which is down in Connie Island. I was thinking that since we have one week of Easter holidays, we could just crash their for the weekend? And return back home on Monday morning. What do you guys think? I have a minivan which we could all fit into." Adam suggested, earning a hoot from everyone at the table.
"Hell Yeah!"
"Count me in"
"I have to ask my parents first!" Anne and Ashley both cried at the same time, triggering pouts from the guys and a medley of passing comments.
"Jeez you guys are such girls."
"Ughh don't be such wusses."
"I can bring my cousin Mark. You know, the one who you literally tried to hook up with last time,"Derek winked at Ashley, to which she immediately replied. "Hey yeahhh! That would be fun. I mean we are all adults. Our parents would have to let us go!"
"Of course if it's okay with you Adam," Derek added.
"Hey chill bro, the more the merrier." The green-eyed hunk answered.
Anne could not help but feel butterflies in her stomach again. A whole weekend with Adam, she thought excitedly. She just hoped her parents will agree.
