backstory;
before she was pregnant, isabel would say she lived a normal life.
she lived with her mother, while her father had abandoned them when she was not even a year old yet. he left after her mother had given birth. he, of course, didn't want to have a child. but he still stuck around —somewhat— for the pregnancy. her mother had found a new man to replace him with when she was two, and he only stuck around for maybe three years. she tried to find someone new after that, for a while actually. although, after finally realizing she wasn't going to find anyone, she fell into a depressed state. which indeed lasted quite awhile. isabel was constantly trying to cheer her up, although nothing seemed to ever work. when isabel was ten years old, her mother tried to get back out there and find someone again.
when isabel was fourteen, her mother was thrown in jail for use of drugs.
isabel was then put into foster care, never got adopted, because she didn't want to be adopted, or maybe she was just an annoying kid.
two years and three months later, her mother gets out of jail. isabel questions on whether or not she should go back and live with her. although, her social worker makes it very clear that she needs to and that her mother needs her.
isabel moves out after four months and moves in with one of her close friends. til this day, she still lives there.

now, how did isabel get pregnant, you ask? well, isabel was out with her friends and having a good time at the bar, with fake id's of course.
when she got a little too drunk and wasn't quite herself. she doesn't remember much else, really.
but let me tell you, a slightly older man had took her to the upstairs lounge, where no one had been, and raped her.
she woke up with a hangover, back at her apartment with her friends. though, when she asked what had happened, her friend had told her that she had gotten laid by some hot older guy.
after realizing she was pregnant, she knew she couldn't give the baby up for adoption or have an abortion. she just couldn't go through with it. her mother had wanted to get an abortion, and when her mother told her that, it was slightly heartbreaking to hear. and she didn't want that for this baby.
