"So what did you want to show me?" Ellie asked, entering through the tall oaken doors.

"This is my, uh, laboratory if you could call it that."

On the walls of the large room are papers in Arthur's cursive scrawl, diagrams and charts and drawings all tacked to the hardwood wall.

"I have a theory," said Artie, leading a confused Ellie to a long corkboard. "You say you travelled back in time, yes?"

"Yeah, but the technology from this era doesnt match up."

"Well, that adds to my theory." Arthur pulled several papers from a desk, but Ellie couldnt make heads or tails of it.
"I have reached a hypothesis that perhaps you arent from a different point in a timeline, but from a different timeline altogether."

"I, I dont get it."

"Right. Well, you know of the concept of Schroedinger, correct? That if we dont know what outcome a scenario holds, both possibilities coexist."

Ellie nods.

"Marvelous, yes. Well, I speculate that the concept of determening an outcome in singularity is false.

"Perhaps, if my theory holds true, the singularity of possibility is all an illusion. I hypothesise that each possibility is already determined, and do in fact coexist with one another. In this, they branch out from one another, each choice in the chain creating a different timeline. All of it is predetermined, but until an individual makes a choice, the chain is missing a link, and the sequence doesnt hold true.

"Now, think of that, but on a larger scale. What if an individual choice not only creates a different sequence of events, but creates an entirely different reality altogether? What if each reality is layered upon one another, unlike the horizontal diagram of time? These worlds-these dimensions, possibly infinite in number, all having at least one thing to differentiate them? Like in one, Leonidas never stood at Thermopylae thus allowing Persia to influence western civilization. Or, or if the oppressed French never revolted, and Marie Antoinette was never decapitated.

"You have done a marvel in theoretical quantum physics, Elena, my dear. You have broken the barrier, you have pushed past the glass of reality"
