Spending more time with Chris these past few weeks have been amazing. He's the sweetest and funniest person I think I've ever met. He never fails to make me smile.

Spending time with him has also made me realize I'm starting to develop feelings for him. Which honestly kinda scares me. I've only had two relationships which ended badly. Since then, I swore I'd never date again.

But here I am, getting ready to go on a date with Chris. He asked me out yesterday and I was so happy he felt the same way about me, but at the same time it scared me. For some reason, I think everything will work out. Hopefully.

I jump when I hear my doorbell ring. Oh God, it's Chris. I almost trip when I walk to my door, I'm that nervous. I open the door to reveal Chris wearing his normal clothes that he always wears, but since it's a date it makes him look so much better than usual.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Yep." I say, walking out my door and closing it. "So, what's the plan for today? You never told me." I ask, buckling up my seatbelt.

"Ah, it's a surprise." He chuckled.

"Oh joy." I smiled.

"Trust me, you'll love it."

After a few minutes of driving, he hands me a blindfold. I look at him confused. "Put this on." He says.

"Why?" I ask suspiciously.

"To add to the surprise effect, now put it on." He said.

"Oh my God, this is so cliche." I whined.

"Just put it on!" He laughed.

I finally gave in and put on the blindfold. A few minutes more the car stops and I hear Chris get out of the car. The car door opens and Chris leads me out of the car. "Can I take off the blindfold now? It's itchy."

"Patience Octavia. Gosh, you're such a child." I giggle. We walk a ways and my patience is growing thin. I can tell we're still outside cause I keep tripping on sticks and tree roots. I stop moving in protest.

"Come on O. It's not that much further." Chris said.

"Carry me then." I heard him sigh and I yelped when he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. "Not what I meant by Carry Me, but this works."

"Yeah, and I get a decent view too." I gasped and slapped his back. He chuckled. He set me down and said I could take off my blindfold. I sighed in relief when I took off the itchy fabric.

My vision cleared and we were in the middle of the woods and a cute little picnic was set up. "Oh my gosh! This is awesome!" I said.

"You said you loved the woods so." He smiled. I jumped up and hugged him.

"Thank you." I whispered into his ear.

"You're welcome. Now let's eat. I'm hungry."

I laughed. "Agreed."

After eating some amazing PP&J's, we laid down on the picnic blanket, gazing up at the clouds to see what kind of shapes we could find. At one point I thought I saw switchblade, which I couldn't decide if that was cool or creepy.

After cloud gazing, we started talking about random childhood stories, most of them were extremely embarrassing but they were still funny.

After finishing laughing our asses off about a story I told him about how I left my new pet fish in my mom's car in the summer and how it basically cooked, Chris turned to me and glanced at my lips.

After looking like he was debating something, he hesitantly leaned in. After what seemed like forever, my lips finally touched his. I know it sounds really cliche, but I felt sparks. No like, literal sparks. We were laying on the blanket so long and it made us all staticey.

We both jumped and started laughing hysterically. "You wanna try that again?" He asked after our laughing fit was over.

"Yeah." I said. We both leaned in and kissed each other.

No literal sparks this time, but I did feel like we were the only people in the world at that moment. It felt amazing and I didn't want it to end. We pulled away from each other, and we both couldn't seem to stop smiling.

"Wow." He said.

"Yeah. Wow." I agreed. We both giggled and leaned in again, only to be interrupted by Chris's phone ringing. Sometimes I really hate phones, like a lot. Chris seemed annoyed too, but answered it anyway.

After talking on the phone a few minutes, he hung up and sighed. "Problem?" I asked.

"Yeah, something came up. I'm so sorry but the date kinda has to end here." He said sadly.

"It's okay Chris." I smiled.

We both got up and walked to his car and he drove me home. "I had a lot of fun today." He said.

"I did too, really." I smiled. He leaned over and and kissed me. I swear, every time we kiss I get so overjoyed and I can't stop smiling.

I got out of the car and gave him a final wave before entering my house. I grinned and flopped on my bed and went over every detail about our perfect date. I groaned when I heard my phone ring, cause it forced me to get up when I'm extremely lazy.

But, I got up out of bed anyway and headed to the living room where I left my phone cause I'm an idiot, but whatever. I picked up the phone and saw it was Essence's mom. Hmm, haven't talked to her in awhile.

I answered. "Hello?"
