Chapter1: High School Sucks

        Chloe’s eyes fluttered open as her alarm clock screamed at her to wake up, as the sound flooded her ears with it's constant loud annoying beeping. As the dreams she had that night faded out of existants.
       She slammed her fist down on the snooze button and let out a loud groan, she absolutely hated school. The people there made it miserable, but she looked on the bright side. School was over in a week and her 19th birthday (She started school late) was coming up. She imagined what it’ll be like. She will finally earn custody of her little sister; and maybe in the future, go to a good college, and even get a good job-! Her train of thought broke as she looked at the alarm on her nightstand “Crap!” She uttered to herself angirly. "8:30am" The clock read with it's big haunting red numbers.

        She ran to school with a piece of toast in her mouth and books in hand, trying desperately not to drop them. As she went by the grass waved in the wind, she didn’t really pay attention to anything or anyone around her as she struggled to get to high school on time. As if it was a consequence for her actions she ran into something or maybe someone? “O-Oh my god i’m so so sorry!” she stammered helping the guy pick up books. He looked like a middle schooler with his silver hair and pink attire and he looked about only four feet tall. “It’s quite alright.” He said smiling and helped her up. “I’m Jīn!” He looked very proud of himself for some odd reason? “Oh hello Jīn, i’m Chloe! Shouldn’t you be at the middle school by now? That’s far back from here…” His facial expression changed from happy and proud to angry in only a matter of seconds, his face was all flustered from embarrassment. “I’m in high school!!!” He shouts- no, squealed at her, stomping his foot on the ground. Chloe couldn’t help but laugh, “Omg are you serious?! Pffft!” She snorted as Jīn was wide eyed in disbelief. “T-That’s it i’m leaving!” He stomps off. Chloe smiled as she watched him leave. Then she realized what she was doing here in the first place. “Fuck, I’m so late…” she thinks as she quickly collects her fallen items and runs towards the school.  

       She bursts through the door, the sound echoed through the hallway. It was completely empty, mocking the fact that she was late. She took a deep breath to calm herself down then she calmly walked to her locker and got her stuff for first period. It just occurred to her that if Jīn was a high schooler then why didn't he stomp off towards the school.. Odd? Did he skip? He didn't seem like the type to do such a thing...

      She thought to herself as she shut her locker and the meanest girl of the school was right there, Ester Phoenix. Chloe's breath hitched, ¨Hello there pip squeak!~¨ Aster said with a smirk very similar to the cheshire cat's. Chloe slowly backed off, ¨H-Hey.” She tried to sound casual, one bad move and her whole reputation will be at stake, not that she had a good one already. ¨Why aren't you in class?¨ Ester's eyes scanned her body and clothing, looking for something to laugh at and make fun of. Chloe felt her face heat up as she tried to think of an answer because she knew if she told the truth Ester would twist it and make it sound like something bad like she always does. ¨I was- uh...I got...lost!¨ Ester smirked, ¨Are you stupid or something? We have been going for this school for years!” She laughed at Chloe, and of course, Ester thought of a way to twist it, god damn it. But Chloe quickly found a way to fix it, ¨No, It wasn't MY fault! It was my stupid parents..¨ You see, that isn't true. Her parents are dead, they've been dead for a long time. But Ester sure as hell didn't need to know that.
