"Wait... Seriously?" I ask my friend, Neat who sits in front of me on her computer.
"Yep... He's dangerous." She replies. A new boy is in town. We know everyone and when there's a new person... we're always the first one to know.
"Dangerous? Or just weird looking?" I ask, chewing on a piece of gum, typing away at own computer.
She looks at me with a weird look, "Well... He's cute to be honest."
"So everyone want's to date him..." I give her a flat look ad put that information at the back of my brain. I always liked keeping track on people.
"I mean... No, they don't. But... you might."
I stare. That's it. I don't even have the words i'm shocked out of brain.
"You okay? You look weird... Are you shocked?!" She gasps, "I've never seen you shocked!"
I shake my head, "Where does he live?"
"Oh my heck! You do! He lives down the block from your shop." She shrugs.
"I don't... I don't know him, so I can't like him." I say, getting up and walking to the door.
"Uh-huh... Just like Ali?" She asks, smirking.
I wince at the name of my ex boyfriend, "That's off the table... permanently."
She shrugs again as we walk down the side walk.
"How old is he anyways? 16? 15?" I look at Neat. We're only 12 and 14.
"No... rumour says he's 19- maybe 20."
I stop and look at her. Hard. "20? And you said i'd like him? What are you hinting at?"
"I mean... Ali was only a year younger then this lad so..." She smiles like a child who did a good job and wants a reward.
"I said Ali is off the table... And he was only 17. I didn't even know til he basically left!" I walk forward faster, making her speed up to a jog.
"Slow... Down!" She pants behind me, "Honestly, you'll... like him!"
I stop and look at a small, cream white house. "This it?" I point at it.
"Yeah... It is." She looks at it with disgust.
"It's nice." I walk up and knock on the door.
She fiddles with her black hair, tightening her braid and laying it on her left shoulder, then right.
I run a hand through my own blonde hair. I hope it looks alright.
Someone opens the door, "Hello?"
"Hi! I'm Xa-..." My voice catches as a see a young man with brown curly hair, in shorts and a T-shirt.
"She's Xael. X-A-E-L... but pronounced Zale." She says, "Oh, and I'm Neat." She holds out a hand and winks.
I'm stuck in place as he reaches around me and shakes her hand. I feel his breath stir my hair a bit as he pulls back.
"Zane." He looks at me and smiles.
I smile back, a real smile, looking into his dark brown eyes and his perfectly shaped lips.
"I-Is she okay?" He points at me, looking at Neat.
"Nope, she's falling in-" I slap my hand over her mouth before she can say anything, giving her a hard glare before turning pink and looking at his grin and crossed arms.
"I'm fine. We're fine- well you're perfect- I mean I just met you so I don't know but-" I stop, feeling heat rise into my face and neck, "We have to go, nice meeting ya!" I say, giving a quick wave before pulling Neat with me, running down the side walk, into my garden and closing the front door quickly.
Neat bursts out laughing.
"What's so funny?" I glare.
"You like him." She pokes me, choking back laughs.
"No I don't!" I swat at her hand.
"You do!"
"Not!"
"DO!" She grins.
"I Don't!!" I glare.
"You don't." She smiles.
"I Do!-" I freeze and blush hard.
"I KNEW IT!!" She yells at me.
"You knew nothing!" I glare, but teasingly this time,
"He's alright, and... Yeah, He is cute." I smile and shrug.
