'I was born to play Michael Carrington!' I basically screamed as my voice echoed through the auditorium.

The entire performing arts team turned around and frowned at me, telling me to sssh - rolling their eyes at my excitement. They all knew how much I have been waiting for this day. I'm sure someone called me a dickhead too.

Miss Dennis just stared straight at me, she wasn't very impressed with my outburst. She always hated it when someone interrupted her. She rested her hands infront of her floral 50s style dress and wrinkled her nose. She wore thick black-rimmed cat-eye spectacles which made her look very rock-billy chic, that and her bright red beehive hairstyle.

'Thank you, Olly...As I was saying,' she continued. 'Our next production will be Grease 2 and auditions are being held this Friday after school.'

I have been dreaming of doing this musical since I started performing in Year Seven. I remember asking Miss Dennis if we would ever perform the sequel to the most famous musical of all time. Every year I pestered her about it, until I just gave up. Either she's out of ideas, or it finally sunk in. Say what you will about Grease 2, but Stephanie and Michael's love story is the greatest love story of all time. Danny and Sandy who?

'Miss, can't we just do Grease instead?' Becky Graham pleaded. I call her Becky With The Crap Hair, because her hair extensions are beyond tacky, and she likes to steal other girl's fellas. 'Grease 2 is a load of shit!'

I stood up, all 5'9' of me, in my denim dungarees, black striped T-Shirt, short blonde hair covered by a black snap back cap and trashed Vans. I glared over at Becky With The Crap Hair and let her have it. No one disses my favourite movie, no one.

'Are you messing?' I asked, raising my eyebrows. 'It's the most perfect musical there is! You've got a love story of a boy who loves a girl, but she doesn't want a book worm, she wants a cool rider. So he shows her who he really is inside - it's beautiful.'

'Yeah,' she said, rolling her eyes at me. 'Just like Grease then? Only the roles are reversed and Grease is ten times better with actors who can actually act and sing. Seriously, Olly, I thought you were a serious performer.'

The cheeky bitch!

'Listen, love...Judging by your dodgy performance of Roxie when we did Chicago in Year Ten with an accent that sounded like something from Home and Away rather than an American show, you're in no position to judge anyone's talent. I doubt you'll be getting a decent part.' I said calmly, sitting back in my seat with a smirk on my face. That'll show her for trash-talking Grease 2.

'Enough, you two!' Miss Dennis shot her eyes at me and Becky. 'We are not going to have another production of you two throwing insults at each other. In fact, if either of you cause any drama this year, you will both be banned from the show.'

I sighed and rolled my eyes.

  'Sorry, Miss Dennis,' I muttered.

'I'm sorry too,' Becky chimed in after me.

Typical. She always has to have the last word. Snotty cow.

'So, does anyone have any quest-' Miss Dennis was about to conclude when she stopped and smiled in the direction of the doorway. 'Hello guys! Are you here to hear about our next musical?'

Everyone turned around and my jaw dropped to the floor. It was Claire Brady and Jake-fucking-Walsh?!

'Hi Miss! Yeah, we're not too late are we?' Claire called out from the door.

Is she having a laugh? Her and Jake? Auditioning for a musical? Jake can't sing a note! I remember during Year Eight when the whole rugby team sang some crap One Direction song just so the girls would go crazy. He really does not know how to sing! All he knows how to do is throw a ball around with all his rugby mates, and take a million selfies in the exact. same. pose. that get a million likes on Instagram. Big whoop! Mine is just filled with pictures of my cat, Toby and he's got a following of his own...by, like, five people.

'But babe, I don't want to.' I could hear him whisper in his posh-boy voice, looking at Claire nervously.

'Please, Jakey-Wakey,' Claire pleaded, making me want to vomit. God, she's such a brat. 'You promised?' Oh, and now she was pouting like a child - she does realise she's not five, doesn't she?

  'Okay...' Jake whispered again.

Claire grabbed Jake's hand and they clasped their fingers together, smiling brightly with her perfect white teeth because she got her own way. She was beautiful. No question. She had thick platinum blonde hair, which was maybe a little bit over-bleached because you could see her split ends from where I was sitting. She was curvy, and had the biggest doe-eyed expression on her face constantly.

'Thank you, baby!' She chimed, giving him a kiss on the lips a little bit longer than we all needed to witness .

As they walked in together like they were the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of the school, I took in Jake's appearance. He was annoyingly handsome. Dressed in a crisp white Ralph Lauren polo shirt with the collar popped up, which really showed off his tall, broad and stocky build. He had the thickest legs too. I will never understand how he gets those legs into skinny jeans - it can't be possible. Not that I think about Jake like that. I actually can't stand him. He's so up himself!

'Sorry about that guys, I bet you're all used to a bit of stage fright,' He laughed in that posh voice which makes me cringe. He's from Liverpool like the rest of us, so why does he speak like he's had elocution lessons?

'You've not even got on stage yet, mate.' I muttered, ruining his moment infront of everyone as he looked over at me. His immaculately styled chocolate quiff didn't move from the top of his head- probably from the over-use of hairspray. He just fake laughed my comment off, squinted his green eyes a bit too much and for a little bit too long. Oh fabulous, he's a bad actor aswell.

'Well,' Miss Dennis grinned flashing her smile at Claire and Jake, 'I was just telling everyone that the musical we're putting on this summer is Grease 2 and auditions are being held on Friday night - are you both interested?'

Claire clapped her hands together very dramatically. Everyone else started clapping too. I just folded my arms and rolled my eyes.

'Oh! I'm so excited!' Claire cooed.

Jake held his smile like he was in pain, looking around the room to study everyone's faces. He was sort of laughing to himself.

'There's a Grease 2?' He asked through the false laughter.

God, I hate him.
