Shrapnel and Misty

Number 1

SHRAPNEL
I grinned and held my hat out, catching the coins in mid air.  I slipped the coins into my pocket, hid my tails into my shirt, and set off to my apartment.

MISTY
I ran as fast as I could. The hunters were relentless in wanting to shoot me for the prize. I needed to get to the new portal before it closed or I would be captured. I didnt know our kinds were hunted and that we were not allowed to kill on behalf of our friends and family.

SHRAPNEL
I giggled and teleported to her position. I stood in front of them, showing my three tails and my ear tag signifying that I was government property. "Good Sirs, I'm afraid that I'll have to stop you here. I can handle her. After all..." I stepped forward and pulled out two guns, pressing the barrels against their forehead. "I won't hesitate to kill you both. It is against the law to do the government's work." One of their arms moved threatingly and I sighed before blowing both of their brains out.

MISTY
I screamed but since I was in my fox form then I simply squeaked before running through his legs. I badly needed to get to the portal and it was about to close in 30 minutes.

SHRAPNEL
I picked her up by her tails and held her in my arms before teleporting to her portal. "Take good care. Take notice because if you come here again then I'll have to take you back." I put her onto the ground and scanned her before letting her go through. I pressed against my earpiece and made a report. "Sir, suspect got away. Went through a time portal. Will send a scan and investigate further."

MISTY
I finally got home and I watched the light disappear as the portal closed. i climbed down from my tree and turned to my form before going into the fox hole and curling up. "Why did he help me..?"

SHRAPNEL
I sighed and turned into my wolf form, cantering home and hating the sound that my front paws made when I walked on hard ground.

MISTY
A year later. I jumped through the portal and then landed in the middle of the square. I looked around before someone said to capture me. I gasped and had to run again, knowing I should have numbered this one.

SHRAPNEL
I gasped as I got the call and quickly threw clothes onto myself, forgetting the shirt before running out. "Hey!! 9 tail! Stop or you'll be captured!!" I easily kept up with her, nimbly avoiding obstacles that she tried to throw in my way.

MISTY
I whimpered and then changed into my human form and rolled to a stop in front of a lake. I turned to him and tried to smooth my white dress as I lowered my head, admitting defeat since I was frightened of any thing to do with water.

SHRAPNEL
I tripped and fell face first into the lake, spitting out water as I reserfaced. "9.... 9 tail...." I panted as I struggled to paddle to dry land due to the circular hole in the centre of my hands.

MISTY
I helped him out and then looked at the hunters who has their guns on me in particular. I didnt know the language so I was unable to do anything but put the other furry in front of me, valuing my life above his.

SHRAPE
I growled and grabbed my gun from my jacket. "I've told you before, stay out of my business you nosy fuckers!!" I shot them dead and grabbed the girl, dragging her with me whilst makig a call. "Boss, I've got the girl... no, I had to kill some hunters as well... yeah, I'll clean the mess up...I-" I shrieked and fell to the ground, clutching my crotch in pain. "Damn it!!"

MISTY
I looked at him before hearing my portal open. I turned to face the light which only I could see and then jumped and changed midair before running towards the portal, having learnt how to keep the portals invisible to everyone else.

SHRAPNEL
I screamed and banged my fist against the floor. "No.... no boss, I'm fine. I might need to take a day off to go to the hospital to get it checked out.... boss! I ain't a whimp! I was talking about the feamur that she possibly broke when she punched me there. She's got a lot of power to her, more than you could ever imagine. She just cant sustain it for long, not like me... of course boss. I'll check that house tomorrow."

MISTY
I tripped and then lost the portal as it closed. I whimpered and stood up in my other form as I looked around, not having a clue where to spend the night.

SHRAPNEL
I gasped and scrambled up after her. "I'll talk later!!" I cut the call and sprinted after her. "Girl!! Come back here you little shit!!"

MISTY
I turned slowly to reveal my tears. I looked at him with fright, recognising the anger. I stood still and let him come up to me before baring my neck to him, showing defeat.

SHRAPNEL
I blushed darkly and whimpered. "I.... I'm so sorry.... please dont be upset.... I.... I'm fine.... see? Please... I promise they won't harm you. The boss has been wanting a daughter for a while, see, and he's been thinking about adopting a mythical to stop them from being captured. When he found you, he instantly wanted you as a daughter..."

MISTY
I tilted my head in confusion before clutching my chest. I fell to the ground and fainted, landing gracefully in my fox form, my tails curled around me.

SHRAPNEL
I chuckled and lifted her up, running to my boss's home. The wife answered and she squealed in delight. She took the girl and immediately laid her on the couch, waking her up and calming her down before making her drink something for her fever.

MISTY
I was barely able to understand them but I trusted them for the one night. I had a feeling they were treating me as a pup even though I was nearly twice their ages.
The next morning. I padded to the window and after an hour, managed to open it. I jumped out and fell down the two storeys and landed on my paws. I ran towards the town, using my power to lead me to the portal.

SHRAPNEL
I grunted as I woke up to my boss's screaming and sobbing down my ear. I rolled my eyes and teleported to her. "Little girl.... please.... stay... you've broken my boss's heart by leaving.... he really thought that he was getting his daughter back.... his daughter was murdered by his boss... please.... you're the only thing he has left..."

MISTY
I looked at him before walking past. I got to the portal and reached out before getting ready to jump.

SHRAPNEL
I whimpered and sighed. "Boss.... I.... I've failed.... she's going..."

MISTY
I tried to go through but fell down to the ground. I had been blocked before seeing someone else go in and the portal closed. "Mother..." I spoke in my language as I stood up and then turned away to face the wolf.
