Moonless Night

*this poem is dedicated to my unrequited love*

In this moonless night that I saw you tear apart,

Your scarlet eyes pierced through my frozen heart…

All your anger and grieve bestowed upon me,

You held me prisoner until the day could hold me...

Your cold skin, your eyes, the way you look,

Grieving silent about the fate, the path you took.

And there there’s me cold and scared to death,

Waiting for you, waiting for a single breath.

Black roses bloom and a tear is shed,

White lilies, you, and a torn-up grave...

The moonless night that I saw you tear apart,

This very night the golden clock turned back...

I saw you shiver, I saw you cry,

I saw you hurt yourself, living a lie...

That’s why I made a pact with the undead,

I’d trade my soul just to see you again...

I’d give everything to make you forget,

Forget the day I killed myself and left you dead...

Red eyes surfacing, your soul is going black,

That bloody moonless night you brought me back...

Despair and pain shined in your teary eyes,

There to remain forever cursed a thousand times.

Don’t worry dear it’s time to forget,

I’ll make you pure, I’ll make you sane again.

Let go of your worries, all your agony,

Don’t stay back and don’t look back at me

In this moonless night I saw you tear apart,

Your bright black eyes pierced through my lifeless heart...

You couldn’t recognize me anymore,

Your heart was free, that’s what I was told...

Yet in the end our love remained,

The tear you shed was not a tear of pain...

Now I can go to my eternal sleep,

Now I can leave and let you the alive to live.
