Elisa had been laying in bed when her youngest daughter walked in she was wearing a blush pink dress with green leggings of course she couldn't see the colors of her outfit she probably thought that her leggings were black and her dress was grey.
"Mommy my teddy has gone missing I can't find him anywhere!" Violet started wailing
"It's ok sweetie, I'm sure we can find beary now go play with your brother." Elisa shooed her daughter out of the room reluctantly she left. Elisa layed there for the next ten minutes waiting till her son and daughter came to her room to wake her up. They did not come so she decided that she should get up and make her kids some breakfast. She stood the air was crisp and frigid, her legs shiver in her sweatpants as she walked the other side of the room grabbed her warm fuzzy slippers opened the door and walked out.
"Mooooooooommm violet pushed me into the wall!" Her son cobalt yelles from down the hall.
"Be patient alright! I will be there in a second." Elisa had to pick up her pace to get to the kitchen. The old farmhouse creaked under her feet as she sort of ran walked to the kitchen she could hear her two younger kids arguing in the living room about who is going to get the blame. Elisa stepped into the kitchen to find her oldest child, Ash, sitting at the dining room table on her phone most likely texting her classmates about what they were doing over the weekend.
"Hi mom." Ash said not even bothering to look up from her phone to acknowledge her mom's presence. Elisa noticed that she looked really worried about something.
"Hey Ash where is your younger brother? Not Cobalt, but Slate." Elisa could tell that Ash was worried about a sibling. She got no response back "Auburn Kasai snow where is your brother!" Elisa hated getting stern with her older kids but at this moment she had to or her daughter would not respond. She had to know where her eldest son was. "Ash where did he go? please tell me."
"Fine he .... He left to go bowling with a bunch of friends. He said he would be back in 30 minutes but it has been 3 hours and mom I am really worried about him I've been sitting here trying to find out what time he would be home. I was going to tell you but you were asleep." Ash burst out crying. Elisa pulled her in and stroked her blue-grey colored hair.
"Its alright sweetie. I'm sure we can find him don't worry I will call your dad right away." Elisa was really in no mood to talk on the phone but she wanted her daughter to feel better than she felt right now.
"Mom thanks." she pulled away. Tears glissend on her cheeks, she had bags under her eyes. Elisa wondered how long she had been waiting for her brother to come back home. Ash's phone rang she picked it up, "Hello?" she nodded her head a few times then said, "Thank you so much." and hung up. She looked pale. Elisa asked what happened she responded with "Slate has been killed mom, Slate has been killed." Ash burst out crying. Elisa was still in shock and was hoping with all her heart that this had just been a prank call. She knew people don't do prank calls like this. She knew that her son was dead and there was nothing she could do about it. They immediately started calling people the mortuary, family, friends, they dared not tell the younger two they just wouldn't understand. Elisa figured that it was about time to call her husband she had been avoiding her phone all morning until they got the call from the hospital announcing that he was dead.
She picked up her phone dialed (735) - 983 - 7156 the call went like this:
Dominic: Hello
Elisa: Hello dear ( through her tears)
Dominic: Is something wrong (silence) Elisa! Elisa is something wrong! Tell me!
Elisa: (sobbing) It's Slate, he's been killed. Please come home we need you right now.
Dominic: Alright I'll be right there just hold tight.
Elisa: Please come quick.
*he hung up.*
