Chapter 12: Blade Children

Start from the beginning

Nathan then closed his hand holding the pendant into a fist. He then looked straight into my eyes and said, very seriously that somewhat scared me,

“Have you heard of Pure BloodVampires.”

“Pure Blood. Yea, they're the originals. The very first Vampires who stepped into the world of the humans. But I heard that they are all extinct over time. What's left are the descendants of Pure Bloods and Level Ss.”

“Do you really think that?” he said that made me somewhat doubt my knowledge they taught me back at the Hunter's Academy.

“No.” I couldn't believe I said that.

“A few remain, and you've encountered one.” said Nathan that frightened me.

The hairs on my arms began to lift up. I felt cold and my heart began to race in a tremendous speed. I couldn't say the Vampire's name. It was like a omen, a sin that must never be spoken. I knew form the moment I saw him, the moment when he heal my wound. But why did I try so hard to deny it? I looked away from Nathan to the ground and whispered,

“Sebastian.”

My lips began to quiver. I covered my mouth trying hard to hold back my scream, but I only managed to shed tears. The truth was revealed and my heart was in pain. I couldn't bare to think what was up ahead for me.

“Lia. This pendant that you have here is a symbol. A symbol that you are intertwined with a Pure Blood Vampire.”

I shot my head back up with tears in my eyes stunned. What? What was he talking about? I looked at him very serious and shocked. He looked away from me and said,

“You said your mother had this and gave it to you. That meant she was intertwined with a Pure Blood Vampire as well, but she died before she got the chance to finish her mission. So she passed it on to you. Lia you are the Hunters call a Blade Child.”

“Blade Child.” I inhaled air as if I wasn't going to live any longer.

I knew the significance of Blade Children but never thought much of it. It was nothing really to discover, and it was rare. Blade Children were children of family members who were Hunters who served Vampires. Each person who served the Vampires had a symbol, an object that contained the blood of that Vampire that was served. Children of those servants where called Blade Children. They fought and protected the Vampire, they were like guardians and a disgrace to Vampire Hunters. But I never seen a vampire around my mother, let alone knew she was a servant.

I then looked up at Nathan with a serious angry look,

“What of you!! You have a pendant just like mine!!”

Nathan sighed and said walking back to my bed sat,

“Before I came here to live with you a group of Hunters who went out looking from my mother. They returned with nothing, but the blue pendant. They asked me if it looked familiar and if it belonged to my mother. I nodded and they then told me the significance of it. I had no idea that she was a servant that pissed me off. She left me with a smudged title and a bad reputation. I was a Blade Child and I couldn't stand knowing it!!”

I looked away from him trying hard to become aware of my position and his. We were both the same. I then looked back at him where he said,

“There was something else they told me. They say my mother's pendant was one of two. They said the blood with in the pendant reacts to the other. From there they said I could find my twin. The other person who had the same blood of the vampire. Lia, your my twin.”

I couldn't speak. There was nothing to say. I felt a part of me had just died. The part of me that was proud and strong. The Hunter inside me was crumbling like stone. I looked down at the ground at my feet as I let my long black hair fall over my face. I was feeling so many things. Disgust, hate, shock, fear, sadness. All merged as one where I just then feel to my knees. Tears began to fall, but I didn't make a sound. My life as a hunter was over. Nathan walked and kneeled in front of me where he then said,
