breathe in deeply the stillness of the night
forget the fear, ignore the fight or flight
express your worries in a form different from yourself
pick up a pen and draw a crooked elf
scarcely small is the worries of her heart
but large on paper is her mind's rambling start
close your eyes and take a snapshot of the world
dip your hands in ink with your mind uncurled
stutter the beats tipping out of your fingertips
admit defeat or peg the pictures up with clips
standing tall she raised her watercolour brush
she danced around her room ignoring the hot flush
that rose to her cheeks as she smiled with vibrant dots
a euphoria similar to seeing babies safe in cots
to her, art was not just a meer three letter word
it was everything she was, everything left unheard
