It was the middle of Demia* when the prince of the Tsumetai tribe was born. He looked just like his mother, The Queen, except for his eyes ... all four of them were red as blood.

"Oh Tengu**! The prince is cursed, we must get rid of him. We can't have a Faisal*** as the head of the clan." one of the queen's chamber maids, she had large shale coloured wings, ox horns and blue tiger like tail.

"I will NOT get rid of MY SON!" Empusa growled wrapping her lion-like tail around the newborn cub.

~~~~~~~~
Two months of war and Empusa was dressed in dark clothing and held her son close.
War had broken out due to her people's superstition of the prince's eyes, Empusa had made a deal with the kingdom of the red moon. She will be a Nannie to the heir of the red kingdom for the safety of her son, the catch was that their will no longer be a blue moon kingdom and her son will have to be adopted by someone outside the underworld.
Empusa used her dimensional scissors and traveled to a dimension that seemed safe, apparently this dimensions name was Earth.
Empusa found herself across from a grieving couple apparently they had lost their baby during its birth because it had been in distressed which resulted from the umbilical cord around its neck. She felt sorrow as she followed the couple to their home and made note of it so she knew where her baby was when she had days off.
Empusa transformed and rented a room at a hotel for the night, she used this time to write a letter to the unfortunate family.
~~~~The letter ~~~~

Hello Diaz Family,

I am Empusa, queen of the Tsumetai tribe of ice demons from another dimension. The little bundle of joy in the basket is my only son Marco, whom I unfortunately won't be able to raise due to him being born with bright blood red eyes, a trait the people from my kingdom view as a curse.

I fear for his life and that's why I give him to you, trusting that you will protect him and raise him to be the best king to ever rule my kingdom.

In the basket that holds him I have included two books that I trust will be useful to you and him in the future: the first is my personal book of spells, which contains numerous spells that may aid him and you in case of need, such as the "Mutatio Leatha" spell which allows him to temporarily hide his demoniac features in order to blend in better with his peers. The second book is "As the Snow flurries fall: the ultimate guide to raising an ice demon from cub to leader." which contains all about our species from history to anatomy.

Thank you for taking care of my little prince and be sure that you will be rewarded for this should we ever met in the future.

~ Queen Empusa of The Tsumetai Tribe

P.s. Please be sure to tell him about his true origins before he turns 13 because, as the guide will tell you, that is the age where some of his more dangerous powers will be unsealed so if you don't tell, any anger burst he may have will result in a disaster.

~~~~end~~~~
Empusa sighed as she wrapped her cub in a blanket that used to be her royal dress. "Hush my cub, you will be safe and even though I will not be rising you I will be there to guide you." She said bopping Marco's nose making him squeak and wriggle in the blanket. By the time Empusa had finished enchanting the spell book to only reveal the spells based one Marco's age, Marco had fallen asleep. Empusa summoned a purple & blue basket to put Marco and the books, once Marco and the books were in the basket she started the walk to the Diaz household.
Once she got there she kiss Marco's tiny forehead and rang the doorbell.
(Of all the money e'er I had,
I spent it in good company.
And all the harm I've ever done,
Alas! it was to none but me.
And all I've done for want of wit
To mem'ry now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all
Oh, all the comrades e'er I had,
They're sorry for my going away,
And all the sweethearts e'er I had,
They'd wish me one more day to stay,
But since it falls unto my lot,
That I should rise and you should not,
I gently rise and softly call,
That I should go and you should not,
Good night and joy be with you all.
If I had money enough to spend,
And leisure time to sit awhile,
There is a fair maid in this town,
That sorely has my heart beguiled.
Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips,
I own she has my heart in thrall,
Then fill to me the parting glass,
Good night and joy be with you all.)
Empusa sang as tears rolled down her face while she walked away from the house.
Demia*= is one of six seasons that the underworld has, earth's equivalent would be the end of spring.
Tengu** = one of the old gods, has become a common swear among the Tsumetai clan.
Faisal*** = means cursed king in the old language of the Tsumetai clan.
