Archibald's point of view (p.o.v.)

As I sat on my bed, listening to music, my arms started hurting; so I looked down at my arms and grass and flower buds started growing out of my wrists.

"Archie, come down stairs you'll be late for school," my mom yelled, grabbing her purse, heading out the door to drive me to school.

Coming mom," I respond grabbing my backpack and shoving my notebooks in it.

As I got in the car, I pulled my hoodie sleeves over my hands whilst putting my hands in my pockets.

"Hon, why are you wearing a jacket? It's supposed to be at least 80 degrees today," my mom asked, tightening her ponytail and fixing her scrubs.

"I was just cold this morning. I'll take it off later today. Oh, and mom, I'm going to hand out at Maddie's house today after school today, ok?" I asked her.

"Okay hon, is something bothering you?"

"No."

As we pulled up to the school, I saw Maddie sitting outside on her phone. I got out of the car and went to go meet her.

"Hey Arch, your leaves are showing." She said, playing with her long dark gray Dutch braids.

"Oh crap, thanks Maddie. What are your classes?" I asked, running my fingers through my almost white hair.

"In order: world history, chemistry, choir, and algebra, Spanish, and language arts. What are yours?" She said.

"Language arts, trig, choir, chemistry, world history and, art," I replied, looking at the ground.

It's third period and I show Maddie the flowers and she's shocked. I can't see the colors of the flower buds or the grass. I look at Maddie and see her bright colored eyes.

"Arch, hey, are you ok? You seem really out of it." Maddie says, waving her hand in my face trying to get my attention.

"Huh, oh yeah, I'm good. I... just thinking about stuff."

When I get home I grab my dog, Vader, and head down to Maddie's house. I go to the back door and I knock on the door. When Maddie opens it Vader bolts in, making me stumble and let go of his leash, he heads toward my other friend, Nick.

We all hang out and, it gets closer and closer to 7 o'clock so I head home to finish homework.
