noelle walked into her class, dragging her feet behind her, already aggravated before the day had truly began. she sat at her desk and got out a pencil, waiting for the class to start. she began tapping the tip of the pencil against the desk to the beat of her music, she removed her headphones as the bell had rung.

"good morning class." Ms Luna Villareal had spoken up. "today i will be assigning you a project!" she smiled, looking at a few students who had grown excited from her statement. "you will be getting to know these people and creating some what of a presentation or a selection of traits for who they really are."

noelle scoffed, she hated everyone in this class; the one person she didn't hate was carrie but they had a falling out when they were toddlers, ever since her mother moved in with jamie street, noelle had completely changed as a person.

noelle reserved herself to only her close friends and some disposable arm candy. the one member of her family she was truly close with is macy, they hung out in her room when her mother brought her over as a child and they stayed friends. noelle zoned back into class when her name was called.

"NOELLE." the raven-haired woman's voice raised. "what?" noelle responded with a smirk. "your partner. carrie fisher." she looked over at her, carrie flashing her a gentle smile, noelle responding with the roll of her eyes. the teacher dismissed them to talk to their groups. carrie standing up, walking over to noelle.

"hey." carrie said with a grin. "what's up." noelle said as she was texting a friend, her nails clacking on the keyboard with ever letter. "i-uh- do you want to- maybe go somewhere tonight or- have a sleepover? catch up?" noelle smiled.

"sure thing.." noelle stood up, holding her phone in one hand, the other on her hip. "i'll just clear up with my parents, hunter and ruby but they went on a camping trip because the kiddos are already out of school." she nodded at carrie. "i'll see you tonight. do you need me to send you the address?" noelle shook her head.

"i visited when i was older, i remember." carrie nodded as she smiled, picking up her back and stringing it over one of her shoulders. the teacher spoke up once more. "since it is the last week of school the project is due in four days, on the last day of school. no computers, just on a poster board." the students got up, scattering into different paths to classrooms as the bell rang.

noelle began walking down the stairs as the epiphany of social gossip in the school caught up with her, otherwise known as her best friend. "hey noelle." the blond-haired girl smiled. "do you wanna do something tonight?" noelle shook her head. "i have to do a stupid project with my cousin carrie. i'll text you if i can sneak out or i just leave."

noelle walked into her class as she said goodbye to her friend. she sat in the back of the class, macy walking in, a year behind noelle but just as smart as her. macy sat next to her as she smiled. "how are you mom and dad? last time i saw them they were screaming at each other."

noelle leaned her head back; running her hands through her wavy brown hair. "not good. it's awful. i wish my mom didn't break up with asher. i wish she didn't get together with my father. he is awful. i don't doubt he is cheating on her." macy grabbed noelles hand, comforting her. "i'll always be here." she smiled, noelle returning the warm gesture.

noelle stood up as the final bell for the day rang, she grabbed her bag, sorting through it for her keys. she found them lying at the bottom of her bag as she walked out to her car. a silver lexus sat in the parking lot waiting for her. she got in as she shifted the gears, driving to her apartment.

she walked in as she rushed into her room, avoiding her mom and her father; the only thing she heard from her mother was whining about how she wished she never had this life and how unfair it was to her and noelle. her father was just always seen with a drink in his hand.

she walked into her room and set down her backpack, throwing her homework on her desk. noelle stood up as she got a text from carrie;

i'm happy to finally
see you again! xx

me too. i'll
pack and be over .

noelle quickly grabbed a bag, throwing clothes for school and a comfortable outfit for sleep. she picked up her backpack once more and walked outside her room, seeing her parents, not fighting for once, waiting for noelle. "noelle. we need to talk."

"i have to go to carries house to work on a project." her mother nodded, her arms crossed. "you will after this." her father showed her an email from one of her teachers suggesting summer school. "that's bullshit." noelle scoffed, handing her father his phone. "language noelle." her mother snapped at her.

"yeah, yeah i get it mom. i'll see you guys tomorrow after school." jamie stopped her. "when you get home. no phone, no computer, and no television until you have at least a C in every class." noelle stomped her foot, her heel making it sound louder than it was. "i'm leaving. bye."

she slammed the door as her father yelled something, she could hear charlie trying to calm him down. noelle rolled her eyes, her footsteps growing louder the angrier she got.

she pulled into carries parking lot as she walked up to the front door, knocking, there was no answer. she walked around the house, seeing an extension with pet beds housing multiple stray animals and feeding them as well. she looked down at the beach as she saw carrie sitting on the sand with her dog.

noelle called out to her from where she was standing, carrie turned around, smiling as she saw her, she stood up as she called shep, she followed along. "hey!" carrie smiled. noelle rocked back and forth on her heels as she waited for carrie to open the door.

"so i was thinking we could make some cookies or watch some tv and talk?" noelle smiled. "yeah.. sounds fun." shep walked up to noelle, rubbing her head against her leg. noelle laughed as carried tried to call shep, she stood with noelle. "HAHA SHE STILL LOVES ME." she joked with carrie as she called shep inside, she followed noelle.

carrie playfully pushed noelle as she walked inside. "hey man don't get salty just because i'm better." carrie laughed as she went into the kitchen, grabbing the cookie batter along with a few things needed to make it. a strike of lightning was heard from outside as they walked outside, carrie getting a cup of ice water as they walked out.

noelle stood out in the open air for a second as it began to down pour, carrie topping it off by throwing the ice water over her head. "YOURE SO DEAD." she screamed as she grabbed carrie pulling her into the rain, cupping her hands together as the rain filled her hands; splashing it on carries face.

noelles makeup began running as she was splashed with water again.

the rain had calmed down, not enough for noelle and carrie to have a full out water war with so they went inside to dry off. carrie walked down the stairs in a new outfit, noelle sat on the couch wearing a tank top and dark blue shorts.

"it's only nine. jesus. this is the place where time can never stop. it passes so fast here." carrie laughed. "it doesn't feel like that when i'm forced to tutor hunter instead of going on dates with my boyfriend." noelle looked at her. "boyfriend?" carrie laughed. "Remember the uh guy you had one of your plastics hit on..."

noelle looked at her as carrie smiled, both bursting out into a fit of laughter. "i guess there is a lot that i used to do." carrie laughed. "really.. i wonder where you got that idea from."

they walked into the kitchen and got out the flour, the eggs and the milk. "so how are things at home noe?" carrie questioned. noelle sat on the stool. "well when i get back, no computer, no phone, no friends. because my teacher wants me to take summer school."

carrie looked at her, cracking two eggs into the bowl. "i could tutor you if you wanted." noelle looked up. "i guess; i just hate like ALL things to do with school." carrie laughed. "same"

it had been five or six hours and the girls had stayed up talking; about random things, they had ended up on the beach at the time. it was four in the morning and neither one of them wanted to go to sleep. sometimes that happens when you reunite with your best friend.
