Mandy’s POV

I sat in my room wondering what was going to happen next. How our lives were going to change yet again. Nothing seemed to be going smoothly anymore.

What hurt me the most was that Brian wasn’t here and no matter how much he hurt me I couldn’t let go of him and what I felt.

I needed him here and I had to find a way to fix everything. I needed him, I needed to be the girl I was when we were happy together.

“Mands?” I looked up to Alisha standing in my door way. “Are you ok?”

“Yeah I’m fine. Just thinking.” She came and sat next to me on the bed.

“Where’s Robin?” She smiled.

“The guys took her to the park for the afternoon. God help us.” I laughed.

“I’m sure they’ll be fine.” She nodded.

“Now Mandy what’s going with you?”

“I still love him Alisha. I don’t know what to do.”

“I know that you do and maybe you should talk to him figure things out before you get Tal’s hopes up.”

I shook my head. “I’m an idiot aren’t I?”

“You’re not an idiot Mandy. You and Brian just left things at a really weird place.”

“Speaking of Tal I heard you and him arguing yesterday? What was that about?” I asked her.

She turned away. “It was nothing really. He was just pissed about Matt so we talked it out.”

“Oh.” One thing Alisha never did was lie to me so at this point I didn’t know what to think, but I trusted my sister no matter what.

“So quit avoiding the subject, what do you want to do about Brian? I mean is what he did forgivable?”

“Honestly I don’t know. I mean I think we need to talk, but I don’t wanna go back to Huntington and I know that he isn’t going to come here.”

“Maybe you should call him.” I sat there thinking.

“And what if it doesn’t work out?”

“What if it does?”

Benji’s POV

I walked up to Brian’s front door. I wasn’t sure why I even decided to come here, besides the fact that I promised Alisha. I honestly felt like he wasn’t going to listen to reason.

I knocked.

A few seconds later I heard the locks turning and Brian opened the door.

He looked at me and walked back to the couch where he sat with a beer and video games. The house was completely trashed and he looked like shit.

I picked up an empty pizza box and threw it in the trash. “Dude what the hell?”

He turned around. “Fuck off Benji.”

“Brian you can’t live like this.”

“What do you want me to do Benj? I’m hurting.” I walked over and sat next to him.

“I know bro. But you gotta understand that Mandy is hurting to and she isn’t doing good either. She went home Brian.”

He stood up. “What?!”

“She went home Brian and so did Alisha. Joel is a mess.”

“What happened to us Benji? How could our lives turn out this way.”

I shook my head. “I don’t know. All I know is if you want something, go get it. It’s that simple.”

He smiled. “Can you wait and drive me to the airport?”

I nodded and smiled. Soon we would be who we used to be it was just gonna take a little time and I had to make sure that Mandy was happy with the right person before I could help Joel and Alisha with their problems.

Matt’s POV

We were on our way home with Robin after about 4 hours at the park. It was actually a lot of fun and made me think of my future with Val every time I saw her holding Baby Robin.

“What are you thinking about babe?” I smiled.

“I was thinking that we should get married?”

“What are you serious?” She smiled.

“Yeah. I know it’s sudden and I don’t have a ring, but I love you and I think that we should. So what do you say?”

“I say yes, I love you Matt.”

“I love you too Val.” When I started thinking about the wedding and everything my mood shifted when I thought about Brian and how he might not be there for me on a special day like that.

“You’re thinking about Brian aren’t you?” I nodded.

“I think you should try and talk to him again. He’s your best friend Matt. You’ve known him since middle school.”

“I know, but at this point I don’t know what I could say that would fix this mess. He messed up big time Val.”

Brian’s POV

I had just landed in Maryland and I knew that what I was doing wasn’t the smartest thing, but I had to talk to Mandy and Matt, the two people that this affected the most.

There was no going back now. I waited for the rental car to come pick me up at the airport.

When I finally got to Alisha’s house, I saw everyone getting out of 2 SUV’s. I waited until everyone was inside before I called Matt.

“Hello?”

“Matt?”

“What do you want Brian?” He didn’t sound happy at all.

“Just come outside.” He hung up and I waited a bit before I saw the door open.

He walked up to the car and I gestured for him to get in.

“What the hell are you doing here?”

“I came to fix things Matt.”

“Brian it’s not that simple.”

“Yeah it is Matt. I know that I can fix things. I honestly believe that things can get better.”

“You fucked another girl in your girlfriend’s sister’s house, how can you expect things to get better?!”

“Matt we’ve been friends for a long time I hoped that you would understand.”

“Yeah Brian, we’ve been like brothers since middle school, but if I don’t know who you are these days then who does?”

We sat in silence.

“Matt, honestly I am sorry. I just need you to know that. I need you all to know that I am going to try my best to fix things.”

He shook his head. “I know you have done a lot of stupid shit in your life Brian and I can usually forgive you for it, but this time you need to fix things with Mandy and if she can find it in her heart to forgive you then we can talk.”

“I don’t know if I can even get her to talk to me.”

He shrugged, “Well you have to try sometime and you better try fast.” He pointed and the last person that I expected to see here was walking up to Alisha’s house.

Carey.

But that wouldn’t change anything; I still needed Mandy to hear me out.

I was about to get out of the car when my phone rang.

“It’s her.” I looked at Matt.

“Well answer it dumbass.” He laughed.

I slid her picture up. “Mandy?”

“Hey Bri. Can we talk?”
