Hello hello hello! So I know this is my most popular story, but I wanted to rewrite the whole thing because I didn't like the layout. So I got back to writing the fanfiction in my notebook (a lot of good paper gone to waste XD) HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!
---------
General POV
Mia was walking briskly to the grocery store in the cold New York City air. Her worn out pink Hamilton hoodie that she got 3 years ago was tied around her shoulders, her cheap and broken headphones blasting out the Hamilton soundtrack. She shivered as the breeze hit her body as she opened the door to a mini market. The girl went straight to the beer section. She found the Bud Light 6 pack that her foster father liked and got out her wallet.
As the girl was walking to the check out counter, she bumped into someone, dropping the beer, making the glass contents shatter "Crap. Definitely going to get a strike for this one." She thought She pushed her glasses up to the top of her nose. "Oh my gosh I-I'm sorry." She quickly got up and brushed the man's sweatshirt free of glass. Coincidentally, it was a Hamilton hoodie. Can't let good merch be ruined. She though with a sigh
"Hey are you okay, kiddo?" A man's voice spoke up. Oddly, it sounded familiar. "Y-yeah." Mia agreed looking up to meet the man's eyes. "O-oh my gosh! Y-you're Lin-Manuel M-miranda!" The girl was shell shocked. "Well you know my name, yet I don't know yours." Lin said. "Oh! Umm... My name is Mia Chase..." The girl blushed.
"It's nice to meet you Mia! Can I have your phone number so we can stay in touch? I have a feeling we're going to bump into each other again soon." Lin questioned. The girl nodded and pulled up her phone number. Lin copied it. "Also... not to be rude, but what happened to your face?"
"I... uhhh... I fell and hit my face on the concrete..." She stuttered. "I'm sorry but I don't believe you." Lin said. "Sweetie are you-" He was cut off by another man's voice. "MIA WHY AREN'T YOU HOME YET????" Mr. Adams yelled. "Oh no.. I'm sorry Lin... but I gotta go..." Mia said, running to get more beer.
"Mia wait!" Lin exclaimed. The man known as Mr. Adams approached him. "Hey ponytail! Why were you talking to that poor excuse for a foster daughter?" He screeched. His breath stunk of alcohol, and cigarette smoke.
"First of all, dude, back up." Lin said calmly. Mr. Adams didn't comply. "Second of all.... if you're the foster father, did you cause all those bruises that are all over her?" Mr. Adams stared at him with a blank expression. "What if I did? What are you gonna do about it?"
"Well first, I'm going to call the police and get your drunk butt arrested for child abuse. And then I'm going to call Child Protective Services and I will personally see to it that she gets removed from that crap hole you call a home. That's what I'm gonna do about it." Lin growled, grabbing his phone out of his pocket and dialing the police.
"You wouldn't." Mr. Adams sneered. Lin pressed the call button. 2 minutes later, the cops showed up and took the man away. Lin knew he had a lot of explaining to do to Mia but first he had to get her out of that house. He took out his phone again and texted his wife, Phillipa:
Linnamon Roll: Hey Pip there's this girl that I bumped into at the grocery store. She's been abused by her foster father and I have to get her out of her house. Is it okay if she stays with us?
Pipsqueak: Hey Lin. Of course she can stay with us. Just get her out of that house and we'll go from there.
Linnamon Roll: Thanks Pip. I'll see you when I get home. Love you.
Pipsqueak: Love you too, honey.
Once Lin put away his cell phone, he went to look for Mia. It didn't take long to find her because she was in the Starbucks next door, her head in her hands. Lin took a seat across from her in the booth they were in.
"Hey Mia!" He said, hoping to bring the girl's spirits up. "O-oh hey Lin..." the girl said, bringing her head out from her hands and sipping her hot chocolate. "I have good news." Lin smiled. Mia perked up. "I got your foster father arrested." He exclaimed. Mia's jaw dropped.
"Y-you can't be serious..." The girl said quietly. "Well unfortunately for you, I am serious. And I was wondering if you'd like to come stay with me and my wife until we can figure out something for you." The girl nodded. "We might need to call your social worker and explain the situation. to them. And if all goes well, you might be able to stay with us for a while longer."
"Okay..." Mia nodded. The two walked out of the coffee shop together.
