Eloise and Ash (Slytherin and Hufflepuff)

But he's so nice...

It was Eloise's very first day at Hogwarts and she was beyond ready. She was very set on being a Gryffindor. Her parents were both wizards which made her a pure-blood. She was all ready to go when the Hogwarts express came, her curly blonde hair tied back in a ponytail. She had her luggage in one hand and her pet toad's cage in the other. She seemed to spread joy where ever she went, even in the darkest of times. She was a diligent worker and swift to react in the face of danger, and for this she believed she was a Gryffindor. She looked up, worriedly at her father.
"What if i don't get Gryffindor?"
He smiled and hugged her tight.
"Then we'll love you no matter what."
He let her go as the train arrived.
Her father stood there hand in hand with her mother as they waved goodbye. Eloise hopped on the train and went to find a seat with other first years. Most of the seats were full by the time she reached the first years so she decided to sit next to a quite boy who was looking out the window.
"Hello." She started.
The boy looked up to face her and Eloise had to suppress a gasp.
The boys eyes were a dazzling, fiery purple. Eloise knew this was very rare as she had studied things like this, she had always been fascinated with unique features such as the colour of someone's eyes. "Um, yes hello." He stuttered. Eloise sat on the seat across from him.
"My names Eloise, what's your's?"
"Ashwinn, or Ash for short."
Ash gave Eloise a quick once-over then continued to stare out the window. He had shaggy dark brown hair and a small frame. Eloise was practically shaking with excitement. She had made her first friend!
"So, what house do you want to get in?" She questioned.
"I'm not sure, Ravenclaw I suppose."
He shrugged.
"Alright, well do you perhaps... enjoy quidditch?" She asked tentatively.
He jerked his head back towards her as his eyes lit up brighter than before.
"I love quidditch!" He exclaimed.
Eloise giggled.
"What?" He demanded. "Why are you laughing?"
"Because, you just don't strike me as the kinda guy who would like quidditch."
She continued.
"What's your favorite position?"
"Chaser." He stated immediately.
"I'm hoping I can try out when I'm a second year."
"Huh." She replied.
"What do you suppose will be your favorite subject?"
"Not sure... other than flying, maybe charms?"
"I always thought I'd like Herbology or Astronomy." She queried.
After a long while of conversation, they decided they'd stick together when it was time to go into Hogwarts. And they did. Eloise squealed with happiness as they entered the dinning hall. Ashwinn gasped when he saw the candles floating in mid-air. One by one they all filed into the large room. Professor Dumbledoor stood at the podium and began to speak.
"Attention all first years we will now begin the sorting.''
Eloise squealed again and turned toward Ash, her smile slowly turned into a frown as she saw Ash's face was riddled with worry.
"What's wrong?"
She asked her friend, concerned. He coughed and rubbed the back of his neck.
"N-nothing. Just... thinking about the house I'll get..." he flashed her a convincing smile, but she didn't buy it. She decided to leave it alone for now, but would question him later.
They had just reached the end of the D-name list when Eloise was called. "Eloise Dynrin."
Was echoed across the walls. Eloise stepped forward and sat on the stool as the sorting hat was placed upon her head. As quickly as the hat had been put on her head, it was taken off as "Hufflepuff!"
Rang through the room. People cheered and clapped but Eloise was confused. This was certainly a mistake, she was a Gryffindor at heart! But alas, she was shoved aside as the next person walked up to the chair. Eloise walked toward an empty space at the Hufflepuff table, still in a daze, when all of sudden she saw Ash walk up to the hat. What house would he get... she wondered and not long after, the hat called out "Slytherin!" And Eloise almost sobbed. Poor Ash, he was to kind for Slytherin! How had this happened...
