Willow isn't you're average every-day kind of teenage girl, she doesn't gossip with her girlfriends or chase after boys. Then again she never really had many people to gossip with or chase after.
Being a home-schooled-only-child who is constantly moving around the world doesn't leave willow with a lot of friends to be had.
With her parents frequent absence she spends most of her time exploring the outdoors, or with her nose stuck in her black sketch book.. or any book for that matter.
One afternoon, when her parents' were away at work as always, and little willow was left alone to fend for herself, she did what she always does, grabbed her sketch book and pen, and opened the front door. with the wind pulling at her long black hair, and her round hazel eyes adapting to the setting sun, she began her adventure to the outdoors.
She went straight to the woods a couple dozen feet away, she had no destination, just away from that house and those memories.
as she was following the outline of the woods, she stumbled across a little dirt trail with stone edges. she stared at it for awhile, admiring its aged beauty. Memorizing it for one of her sketches she would do later that evening, before venturing off into the forest following the tiny stone path.
she had been walking for quite some time before she turned around and realized she could no longer see the house or the opening of the forest. The overwhelming amount of trees blocked her vision as the path curved and winded away. She felt comfort at the thought of being out of her parents reach, Feeling the excitement tingle at her fingertips.
she kept wandering down the path, wondering how long it was, and what was at the end of it? "I do NOT want to return to that wretched house!" she told herself while climbing over a log spread across the path.
When she looked up at the sky, she noticed there were only a few hours left of daylight. the forest was too thick to see the sun through the trees, but she knew it had to be late for the sun rays to stop creeping through the branches.. yet somehow, it never seemed to darken.
it wasn't long before she reached a path that spread two directions.
"Left or right??" she asked herself optimistically, "right is.. well the right way, but I'm left handed." trying to create the most superstitious reason for her choice. after a few moments she decided to go right, and after her curiosity to find out whats at the end of this path overwhelmed her once again, her casual stroll turned into a sprint.
She ran for what felt like an hour, she climbed a log spread out along the path and debated on going back or not, but then, there she was again, the path split two ways and she looked back to find a log spread across the path that curved and disappeared behind the overlapping trees
