It had been a thousand years. A thousand years of destruction , death and despair. The Demergris , a race of superior , creatures possessing dark magic had ravaged the land , bringing destruction in every corner of Terra Deorum. The deorum-or gods , as they were commonly referred to- had been unable to keep them at bay , and had rather chose to cower and flee than face them on and defend their land. Years and centuries passed , and a new generation of gods arose. Three brothers , born of the universe herself decided to take matters into their own hands. RaSol eldest brother and ruler of the sun , armed with his Sceptre of Light , led the charge against the Demergis. Second brother Oceanus commander of the seas together with his trusty Trident of the Tides and youngest Zargan ruler of the departed armed with his Scythe of Sorrows were his war commander and general respectively. Together the three brothers managed to round up the last of the gods and form an army powerful enough to defeat the Demergris once and for all.

The sun seemed to be moving. It was moving fast , across the sky like a shooting star. The dark and dreary land was lit up with the magnificence of the rising sun. The Demergris , led by their leader Brainel, stood in coloumns of five. Tall and proud they stood like shadows. Unlike the gods who had a resemblance to the inferior human race , Demergris stood eight feet tall and had skin the colour of spilled ink. The only colour on them , were their eyes and fangs which both glowed an ominous yellow. They had horns and talons long and sharp enough to carve marble with. Their wings , when not in use were folded behind them like that of a bat , their tails slithering behind then.

Brainel watched as the sun streaked across the sky , moving closer and closer to his ranks. Unphased he watched as it began to descend. It's collision with the earth sent a massive explosion upwards , sparks and rocks flew out in all directions , momentarily blinding the creatures.

When the dust settled , a huge crater had been formed , and in it's center stood RaSol in all his shining glory. His golden armour , glistened like the sun , his golden mane and beard braided back , with his gold helmet resting on his head like a crown. His golden eyes were charged with the power of lightning and a hundred suns. In his hand , the sceptre glowed with life.

"BRAINEL!" came the thunderous war cry. "Surrender now or face the consequences!"

"RaSol," the Demergris leader sneered. "It has been a thousand years. Do you really think we are prepared to give up?"

"I thought not," the sun god muttered , then looking up at the sky let loose a bright bolt of lightning. "Gods of Terra Deorum! Fight for what is yours!"

Just like that , they began to drop. Gods and goddesses, who had joined the army to defend their land , all dressed in their finest armour descended from the sky. Oceanus and Zargan appeared beside their brother.

"Are you ready brothers?"

"Yes," came Oceanus' reply , his golden trident charged an electric blue , power of the seas. His eyes glowed blue , and his long brown hair was swept back to make way for his golden helmet which covered the upper half of his face. It resembled the skull of a very rare sea creature.

"As ready as I will ever be brother ," Zargan's muffled voice replied beside  him. He was hooded in all black , his armour as dark as the skin of the Demergris. His helmet covered his entire face and only had space for his eyes and air. He held onto his scythe which glowed an ominous purple , the same glow that surrounded him.

The other gods had taken position behind the brothers. Each holding onto a weapom designed to suit them.

"Gods!" RaSol paused for effect , everyone waiting with baited breath. "CHARGE!"

War cries echoed along the famined land as the two sides surged forward. The clang of metal was heard , as blades met talons. Cries of pain rang out, as dark creatures were felled.
