"Choices are says to be a big thing in everyday life. They're supposed to determine a persons character, however not all choices are black and white. According to such research factors... Gah this stupid paper!" I yelled as I threw another balled up paper across my bedroom floor and let it land in a now empty box. When my mother moved me and my brother to a new school our classes switched over. That meant that all the homework that I had at the old school I have to do now.

"Calm down Quinn. It's just a paper," my brother Ashton joked as I slammed my head down on my desk. It wasn't much of a secret that I hated psychology and it made it worse that I had advanced psychology. At my old school and even at this new school that I haven't started yet I had to take it as a required class to graduate. Now I hate this class with a passion but I know that it could always be worse. I could have to take gym.

I turned around in my rolling chair and brushed my hands through my currently blonde hair. I usually dye my hair and right now it's the color that I bleach it. A true sign that I'm frustrated with my life and I can never seem to get anything done. The blonde hair never matched the dark coloured clothing that I choose to wear, however it will have to deal for right now.

"It is not just a paper Ash. You don't get it. I have to turn this in on our first day or I'll be looked like a failure. You know what happens to failures in our family," I said as I looked at my bedroom door expecting a knock. At my old house my friend would come over before school at this time. Since we moved I never got out of the habit of looking and waiting for him to show up.

Finally realizing that he wasn't going to come I sighed deeply and put my notebook back into my bag. I wasn't looking forward to this day in the slightest. I begged mum to let me stay in Ireland until after my birthday but that never happened. She insisted that we moved before I turned sixteen so here we are in America. It was supposed to help with my load of mental illnesses but not even the medicine has helped with those.

The day my father made his decision it caused many outcomes that nobody was ready for. With my mother it drove her madly insane. Ash was stronger than our mother, as he handled things much better than her. He didn't cry each and every night but though of things as a positive view of life. I on the other hand was the weird one and nobody could figure it out. When our father did what he wanted I completely shut down to everyone but Ash. Meaning that he is the the only one I talk to at all. It scared my mother that my father had the power to leave such a void but I knew that it was going to happen.

She blamed him for my silence and she blamed me sometimes too. Like it was my fault that I was hurt by what my father did. I just didn't want to seem weak to everyone so I decided that saying nothing was better. It was my choice to make not my mothers and I was perfectly fine with my choice.

"Come on we have our first day tomorrow. We need sleep," Ash whispered as he pointed at the clock. I wasn't in the mood for him to tell me when I needed to go to sleep. We both knew that it wouldn't work out, the nightmares wouldn't let me sleep. I watched my brother walk out my room and I smiled to myself as I pulled the covers back. He was just trying to care for me. he's not telling you how much like your father you are I thought to myself as I turned off my lamp.
