The library; a second home to me. A place where I could relax and forget all my complications in highschool- although I barely had any. It was comforting, it was supposed to be comforting in a place that felt like home. Definitely don't get me wrong it was. That was until, that happened, no something...No, someone.
I was busy reading the Harry Potter series in the library; I'm on Prisoner of Azkaban. As soon as I was about to flip to the last page to finish off the book and move onto the next, I am interrupted with a cough and a unfamiliar face. It is only my first year here; I would never expect that I would face an upperclassman. I quickly get up to bow deeply, but I am halted by the touch of the stranger's hand on my shoulder, flashing a smile that radiates throughout the already warm library. A sense of dread dawn's on me although the stranger has yet done anything alarming. I slowly sit back down in my seat, and bookmark my page.
"Hello," He says in a surprisingly different voice from what I'd imagine.
I looked behind me, checking if he actually was even talking to me. I see someone grabbing a book from a shelf behind me, was he possibly talking to him? I look at the stranger and point to myself for a moment, it makes him chuckle. God, I can already feel my ears burning from embarrassment.
"The names' Chris, I'm sophomore here, nice to meet you," Chris says as he lends his hand out over the table. I stare at his hand for a bit before I nervously take my hand out of my sweaters' pocket and shake his hand with clammy palms.
"My name is Felix, I'm a freshman, nice to meet you too, Chris," I greeted back, thankfully holding in my stutter.
Adruptly he moved from in front of me, to next to me, and glanced at my book. I instantly become weary of his presence. I unintentionally shiver under his gaze.
"You know, you'd be perfect for the book club here," He claims which such conviction, instantly catching my attention.
"T-There's a book club here?!" I had spoke with fascination, and probably excitement written all over my face. Chris nodded, and glanced at my stack of Harry Potter books next to me. After realizing my outburst, I flushed a darker hue of red.
"Started reading the series?" He asked, which I shook my head. "I've already read them all of them, but I'm rereading the series," I corrected him.
After a long pause of silence, like usual he broke it once again. "So, how's your first year of high school doing for you, Felix?" His head resting on the palm of his hand. His calmness and virtue was beginning to creep me out. I just wanted to go back to the dorms.
"I-It's good so far," I stuttered, shifting in my seat as he scooted his seat closer to me. "I made a few friends, and my classes are quite easy to say the least," I finished, cursing at myself for my god forsaken stutter; if only I was actually good with my Korean. I didn't realize he was staring at me intently until I had turned to him. He made me shift in my seat once again; along with presenting some type of mysterious aura looming around him, I was seriously trembling now. I could faintly smell his cologne.
I scoot my chair closer to the edge of the table, but it only makes Chris shift his chair even closer to me. He gives me a smile saying, "Free period is about to end; I hope we become great friends," emphasizing 'great'. And with that, he reaches out to pet my hair and walks away with his hands in his pockets, waving goodbye, and leaving the library until the bell rang.
Getting lost in thought and time, I hurriedly picked up my belongings, and raced out the door. Something about that boy, Chris, just gives me chills down my spine. It feels as if a spider is crawling along my back. If only I could squish the feeling of Chris' presence like I would with a creepy-crawly spider.
If I had the chance, I would've. But, after third period; my highschool experience would no longer be the same. Never.

Storie d'amoreFor Felix, highschool was supposed to be easy. Of course, good luck comes with a price.
