Loki's side

I love Loki and was a bit pissed at how they left Dark World off - but also happy beyond compare because LOKI LIVES! This might very well be my worst one-shot to ever write... So, thanks to those of you who read this.
(After Note: I sort of made this into an AU of one of my own fanfics about Loki... I hadn't meant to, but it's nice to sort of get out some form of romance thingy between him and that 'mortal woman'. She's not named in this one-shot, but in the fanfic she is. I might post it - when it's finished and if you guys ask for it.
P.S: It's also really short, I'm sorry...)

Moment of Understanding
There was something Loki always never understood about Thor. It was something that he didn't get until now. Thor loved mortals and their world - that's what Loki didn't get. But, after his fight with, and on the same side as Thor, Loki was able to understand why. Thor loved to protect someone who holds interest from him, and he loves to be able to show her - that Jane woman - more to the reality she grew up with.
That why Loki was sitting in a room, on Asgard, trying his best to understand more than just Thor. He wanted to understand Tony, Natasha, Clint, Bruce, and even the Star-spangled man himself. He wanted to understand everyone he ever met that is from or now on Midgard. Loki wasn't one to be interested in the lives of mortals, but because of Thor, he found that he was in this particular moment. Loki, not knowing why he was interested, went out to the garden; he has never dropped his guise of being Odin ever since Thor left Asgard completely. All the guards didn't suspect a thing and the Warriors Three were always away on missions to not get a full enough grasp to suspect things themselves. It made everything boring. It allowed him to think about all that he was thinking about now; Loki hated it, but yet he didn't want to to change.
Oddly enough, Loki understood why Thor was so protective; not just for the simple facts that she was mortal and mortal's cannot handle much pain brought upon them, but because Loki watched one mortal woman do something he'd never thought a mortal could do. He watched her try to make everyone smile, tried to get people to calm down when they were about to get violent. Loki, angry with himself, thought about that woman and how surprised he had been when she showed people the part of her that most would shun.
She hadn't cared about the looks people shot her way, she never cared about other's opinions. That's what made Loki understand his brother. Loki understood because he found a mortal to love, just like Thor...
