I flew backward, by force. A screech made everything silent, except for the crackling of fire. I scrambled back towards a half-broken pillar, shocked.

Did I do this? I thought in horror. No, I couldn't! I was just getting some Talia juice! And it's not like I carry EXPLOSIVES in my pocket! I shook my head, trying to clear the thundering inside it. It had been a bomb, dropped by a Navy-Shuttle. It wasn't our Navy-Shuttle, though. It was one from the solar system next door, Poleris. They were at war with us currently, and bombing a tennis court couldn't make this situation any better..My eyes welled up with tears as I saw my young nine-year-old brother lying on the ground, unconscious.

I glanced around suspiciously, making sure no one else was here. I crawled up to him and shook his small body. His eyes flickered open and he stared at me in horror.

"D-Deimos? I... I didn't do anything! It wasn't me!" He started wailing horribly, which made me flinch.

"Deimos isn't here. It's Astrid." My small brother lunged up and wrapped his arms around my neck, as a hug.

"Deimos...took... ma... fa..." I rubbed his back, struggling to soothe him.

"How did you get here? I thought you were on the shuttle with Mother and Father." Worry bit me like a snake. "Where's Nebula? Mother? Father? Umbriel? Celest?" When my little brother, my nickname for him was Acorn, didn't reply, I let out a wail of hurt and fury. Acorn closed his milky brown eyes and fell limp.

Suddenly, he sat up quick, his eyes flashed open, as sharp and intelligent as ever. "Deimos is coming. Run." He pushed me upwards. "Run, Astrid! Run!" I saw my cousin leap down and thundered towards Acorn.

I lunged behind a wall with a giant hole in it, and watched Acorn. If he dare harm my little brother, I thought furiously.

Deimos hissed something quietly to Acorn, and my little brother nodded furiously, as fast as light itself.

"Who is left alive? Where is Astrid?" His voice grew louder. "I didn't see her when the ship blew up..." He was THERE? And he didn't save them?

I couldn't hear anything he said after that. The blood roared in my ears. I fought the urge to tackle him. I looked up into the sky. The explosion was still happening. It was beautiful, yet horrific.

A small gesture of his hands. Acorn gestured me away, his brown eyes willing me to run. I nodded, wanting to obey my younger brother for once.

I hope Acorn's okay, was one of my last thoughts. And if he's not, Deimos will pay.
