"How was school dear?"
Looking down at my feet that were dangling. I smiled, I needed to grow taller to beat them. My parents were like giants, any man would be smart enough not to pick a fight with my father, they'd get the hell of a beating.
I've always admired to become someone like him, the feeling of victory rushes through your veins up to the tip of your knuckles as you hit your opponent...
"Who me? School's always the same nothing interesting happening. All those teachers don't even give a damn about my grade anymore. I practically outsmarted them."
"Report Card." My mother asked raising her hand to borrow.
I scoffed she still doesn't trust me. I'm okay with that. My mother was always the practical one, one who was cunning and sharp on their words.
Words that can stab you to death with secrets and truth that you don't know about yourself. She's the one who's straightforward that she doesn't give a damn about your life and sayings. She has a high IQ that can outsmart anyone, and has a passion for studying.
She's negotiable and very good with speaking in a poise manner. But she'll kill just about anyone with insults and the truth.
I reached for my bag and fished out an envelope along with a medal, and reached it out to my mother.
I looked out to the window on the corner to see it was snowing...
I hope they don't forget it this time!
I smiled thinking of the moment they would yell at me with joy that today's a special day. That's why I needed to do everything that can make them proud to at least remember it.
I held my chin up high, I was confident that I aced my grades up just for them. Mother said something in a jiff that I couldn't even hear when she talked to my father. Her voice was like a whisper refusing my presence.
My mother placed the card back inside the envelope and handed it over to me.
She held her chin high, she looked proud. "Good job son. Take this and that to your bedroom. Once you're finished eating."
I nodded, knowing I wanted to finish things fast, I gobbled my feast like my father and picked up a leg from the turkey. Getting more rice, and more mashed potato.
Once I was finished my parents stopped eating. They stared at me and motioned me to do what I was told.
It was a horrifying stare that would haunt me on my dreams. I knew something was bound to happen extraordinary.
I stood up and walked out without a single sound. Once I was out of sight I made a run for it, adrenaline was rushing through my veins as I was excited to hear what they were saying in the dining area.
Picking up my blue stool on the way, I placed it down and stood on it to reach my cabinet, pulling the door out in a fast way, 21 medals jingled when it was pulled fast and hard. I hung my 22nd medal on the first hook I see and threw my card inside not giving a damn about it.
Finishing 3rd grade was easy.
Made a big jump back to the floor as I ran again to the dining room. Before entering, I stood by to hear what they were saying.
"What did they say about my sorry letter?"
"It says that we need to bring another child to them, to prove your loyalty to the job." My father said.
"Where on earth are we going to find a child who is as cunning and smart as ours? Our son is clearly a mistake and if it weren't for you keeping your dirty hands to yourself I... no we could have kept our jobs. Do you know how it feels to have a price on your head?"
