Her hands were covered in human blood.
But Aufir didn’t mind. She just kept cutting and cutting inside the cold human body on the table in front of her.
“You’re doing a great job, Aufir.”, professor Lazonick said, cheering on her hard work.
But the girl truly couldn’t care less about his compliments. She knew she was doing a great job, unlike all the other medical students, with their faces covered in sweat cutting the wrong nerves because their hands are shaking.
But this girl, she kept it cool, she didn’t feel stressed at all, on the contrary, all she actually kept wondering about was how it could be possibly that so many human beings decided to donate their dead bodies to the science, knowing that they will be left torn apart because of some ‘future doctor in training’ or however these foolish students, still having hope that they’ll all make it to the next year, liked to call themselves.
Aufir didn’t like the thought of humankind thinking that it was capable of saving itself. Humans were foolish imbeciles, ignorant for its own flaws, naive for what will be their downfall and blind for the things right before their eyes. Things like Aufir.
