"Back to the grind..." my best friend Jack says. "No kidding, today is gonna suck... I can feel it." I say. Because everyday is the same for me. Oh by the way I should introduce myself. I'm Rose or Rosie, I'm 15 and a freshman in high school, my father died when I was eight and I have a loving mom, an older brother who is 18, his name is James, and a little sister who's 9, her name is Jasmine also know as Jazzy. She gets annoyed with that nickname but I like it. Anyways back to me. "Why do you hate life so much? You gotta have some happiness in life, something that makes you smile." Jack gave me a concerned look. "I do find happiness, and you're one of the things that makes my life less miserable." I smile back at him. Jack is the only one at my school who knows about my dad. I can trust him. He's never be disloyal to me and is always looking out for me. And I do the same in return. "You sure you're okay though?" He asked. "Yes I'm fine, now stop worrying about me and go to class!" "Oh crap! I'm gonna be late, bye Ros!" "Don't call me that!" He smirks and runs off to class. I walk into my home room and plop down my books. Today is gonna be the same as any other day.
