Shelly's eyes fluttered open at the loud being of her alarm. She slid out of bed with a sigh. It was finally the last day of school, then she could finally relax.

Her plans for her and her friends rushed through her head as she slipped on a crop top and shorts. She took a deep breath.

It was so nice to be in warmer weather. After her dad had died a couple months ago, her family had moved straight from Minnesota to California. Shelly missed her old life, but she had to admit, Cali was pretty dang nice.

She grabbed her keys from her desk and tromped downstairs. She walked downstairs to the familiar sight of her mother scolding her brother Kyle once again for leaving his too on the table.

He sighed, and with one bulky, greasy arm, picked up the tools and trudged upstairs, muttering about how there was no more room in his tiny room.

Shelly smiled. Kyle had been an inventor since he was three years old. He created robotics in every sort and was planning to Major in it in collage. All the other kids in his eleventh grade classes wanted to be his friend, and admitted him, contrary to Shelly.

She rolled her eyes as she grabbed an apple from the counter. She hugged her mom. "One more day, ok sweetie," she whispered in her ear. Shelly nodded, took a bite from her Apple, and ran out the door.

Ok
That was the first chapter of my own book. I hope you like it. I will try to update as much as possible and I will accept any criticism.
