~??? P.O.V.~

The door clicked open and a man walked into our classroom with a blue wagon tottering on behind him.

"Class, please look up from your devices, stop the Rubix cubes, put away your chemistry sets, all notebooks and sketchbooks away, scripts, knives," The man gave Teach a weird look, I turned off my console. "craft materials, sheet music, recipe books, mechanical parts, magic tricks, and Pocky should all be away." Everyone groaned. Clinking, pages turning and shunking noises filled the room. I slipped the console into my desk.

'Teach is normally so laid back with us pursuing our talents, this must be something big.' I thought, my fingers itching to play my games. This is the first time since three hours ago, when I broke one of my consoles, that I haven't been playing games. My partner is still working on the broken console.

"This man, Dr. Karl Stein, is one of the developers for the Virtual Gear and its only compatible game so far, "Speak With Swords." I huffed. Are we just going to get a lecture about the gear? And I already know all about both the V-Gear and SWS. It's sort of a habit of mine. "Now, Dr. Stein has a proposition for our class. Dr. Stein?"

The man, Dr. Stein, pushed up his glasses and cleared his throat. "Hello, S-Class of Marinokina High school. The developers of both the V-Gear and SWS have heard about the numerous gifts and talents of this class, and we would like you, students, to be 22 of 1500 players to first play SWS and write feedback to us on ways we could improve the game so it is as lifelike as possible. Will you accept?" He bowed, scrunching his eyes shut and praying.

"Hell yeah!" One of S-Class' numerous boys shouted from the back of the class. "We'll do it!"

"Really? Thank you all so much!" Dr. Stein looked extremely relieved. "Now to get you all your gear." He pulled to wagon closer to himself and pulled out one. A giant pair of goggles. That's what it reminded me of. "Okay, could I have a volunteer?"

Everyone turned to stare at me. I shifted in my seat uncomfortably. My partner nudged me. I looked up at him and he nodded towards the front. I sighed and stood up. Cheering roared throughout the room as I made my way to the front, fists clenched to the point where my knuckles turned white.

Dr. Stein looked down at me. Very far down. I can't help my height! I don't want to be 4"9 either!

"Ah, and what gift do you have?"

"Gaming." I responded meekly, my mouth dry. I hate all the eyes trained on me.

"So you are the one who has gotten the highest scores possible on every game you've ever played?" I nodded. Is this guy a stalker? "I've heard so much about you!"

"C-Can you just get on with it?" I crossed my arms and turned my head away from him.

"Of course... of course..." He slipped the oversized goggles over my face and clipped the two straps to the back of the gear. He pressed a button and the contraption emitted a soft hiss. "This is the game panel, and this here is SWS. You insert it into this slot and close then the lid. Then put on the gear. To join the game, say 'Speak with Swords game start' and you will be transferred into the game. Fair warning, you want to be laying down in a comfortable position because once you are in the game, your body will be immobilized and your consciousness transferred into the game. Once in, the game will ask you to sign in or sign up, please sign up. Your password can be anything you want, but your username must be S-underscore-and then your gift. Then you will create your avatar."

He re-inserted SWS and closed the hatch, then took off my gear and handed it to me.

Teach spoke. "Class, grab a gear set and follow me to the lounge." One by one, we lined up with our new gear. We followed Teach into a room set up with 22 soft, raised mattresses. I glanced at each name tag until I found mine. I took off my shoes and sat on the bed. "When in-game you may only call each other by their username or a shortened version of it. No real names, got it?"

"Yes, sir!" Everyone yelled, giggling.

"Good. Dr. Stein and I will be coming around to make sure your gear is on properly." Unfortunately, the 'game masters' started at the other end of the room, so I swung my legs over the edge of the mattress. I slipped my gear on and struggled to latch it in the back.

Curse my tiny body.

A big, warm hand gently helped me latch it. I gazed up at the blue haired boy who helped me and smiled softly.

"Thanks." A light blush dusted his cheeks.

"No problem."

Half the class was already in the game, so why am I still sitting out here? Someone, please, come on and let me play already.

It took forever, but they finally got to me. Teach secured my gear and I laid back, taking a deep breath.

"Speak With Swords game start." I closed my eyes and everything went black. Well no, duh. I just closed my eyes. Blue streaks began appearing across my vision until everything flashed white.

"Welcome to Speak With Swords. Register or sign in?"

"Register."

"Please insert username." My body appeared and I wiggled my fingers to see if the game worked properly. It did. I looked farther down to my feet. Holy crap I'm glowing! A holographic keyboard flew to me and I typed in S_Gaming and hit enter. "Please insert password." I quickly typed in the password I use for everything. "Thank you, S_Gaming. Continue to create a character?"

"Yes." My vision flashed again, and this time I was in a dark room. A giant screen lit up in front of me.

"Swipe right or left to scroll through options. Press red button when decided." Okay. Simple enough. A podium rose out of the ground, holding up the Holy Big Red Button. Ooooh. "First decision. Race." The screen lit up again, with the races' name and a picture. I scrolled through until I found human and slammed down on the button.

It made a little 'sproink' noise. Oh, this is going to be fun.

Hair color. Hair length. Eye color. Gender. Starting weapon. Class. Outfit. Race. Height. These questions were what made up the create a character section of the registering.

It took forever but I finally created my perfect avatar. I won't be short! Ha!
