Chapter 14

~Flashback~

(Justin)

I shut the door to my locker as I saw Ryan coming my way.

"Aye man." I nodded my head

"Ready for history?" he nudged my arm

"You know it." I chuckled

We started walking to history class. Then I saw Kate walking down the hall. She was like the hottest girl in seventh grade. Ryan had a huge crush on her.

I punched his arm and pointed to her and he blushed. Wow. Typical Ryan.

We got into the classroom and we sat down in our seats.

"So man I saw your videos on youtube." he smiled

"Yeah..." I looked down

Then the homeroom phone rang. The teacher walked to it an picked it up. He nodded once and hung up.

"Justin. You're moms here to pick you up." he said

I nodded and high fived Ryan goodbye. I walked to my locker and grabbed my backpack and headed to the office.

Once I got there I saw my mom waiting patiently on the bench. When she saw me she smiled and stood up.

"What's up?" I asked

"I'll tell you on our way to the airport." she smiled

Damn. I wonder if we are skipping town because of something bad or what. I have no clue but my mom seemed really happy for some reason.

~In the car~

"So what are we leaving for?" I asked

"Well a guy. Scooter Braun. Saw your youtube videos and thinks you have talent." she said

"And?" I continued

"And we are heading down to Atlanta,Georgia to see if he can get you signed to a record label."

My mind was spinning at this moment. Did I want this? Do I want fame? Money? Girls? No. I want happiness.

"Mom..I don't know if I want this.." I said

"Honey, all I'm saying is we will go down there and you will see a few arenas and see a recording studio. And if you want it. So be it. If you don't. We will turn around and come back home."

She smiled.

I looked at her and saw hope in her eyes. Hope for me and a future that was not like hers. She wanted success for me. Maybe this is it.

I smiled. I'm gonna do this. I know I'll like it. I'm helping my mom be happy.

~Off the plane~

"So what exactly are we looking for?" I asked holding my suitcase and looking around.

"Uhm a chauffeur."

"A huh?"

She giggled "A guy that's holding up a sign that says something relating to us."

"Oh,right." I smiled

She looked around for a minute.

"There he is." she said and started walking towards a man.

He was holding up a sign that said 'Mr.Bieber'

"I could get used to that" I mumbled.

My mom laughed and patted my back.

The man led us to a car and we got in. It was a like 20 minute drive but then we pulled up to a really fancy house.

We both got out of the car and a man came out. He seemed like an ordinary guy.

"Hi I'm Scooter. You must me Pattie." he said shaking my moms hand as she smiled and nodded.

Then he looked at me. "And you must be Justin." he shook my hand.

"Alright well why don't we get in my car. I'll take you to you're hotel room after we do a little tour." he smiled

I chuckled and nodded.

We were in the car for about 30 minutes when we arrived to a big building. It seemed we were at the back of the building.

We all got out of the car an walked around the building to the front doors. When we walked into the room I saw a huge gold slab. On it was a 3D sign. Def Jam Records.

I shivered at the sign. Then I looked around. Behind the front desk on both sides of the gold slab were wall waterfalls.

After Scooter talked to the front desk lady we started walking down this long hall. Down the hall there were several doors. Labeled. Studio 1a. Or 2b. and so on.

Finally we reached a door. In the outside it was labeled. Reid. I thought or a second and could think what that meant. We entered the room and there was a black man with glasses sitting in an office chair.

"Mhmm. Well let me get back to you on that." He said looking at us he must have been talking on the phone because he had a Bluetooth on.

"Scooter!" he smiled getting up from his chair and hugging him.

"I brought you a gift." Scooter chuckled motioning towards me.

"Aw I see, You got what I need kid?" he asked

I hesitated but then looked at my mom. "You know I do." I smirked

"Confident... I like that."

I smiled widely.

"Let's cut to the chase... Let me hear your voice." he said

I gave him a 'Like right now?' look

He smiled and nodded his head.

"Okay umm." I said trying to think of a song

"You got it,You got it bad. When you're on the phone hang up then you call right back. You-" he cut me off

"Hold on I think I have an idea.." he said

He walked out of the room and came back in five minutes later with a tall black male. But it wasn't just any guy it was Usher Raymond!

"Sing for me kid." he said I smiled and started singing his song.

He was smiling and nodding his head. I stopped half way through the song and said "You gonna sing with me?" he laughed and then got up from his chair.

"Do you wanna be famous kid? Do you want your name in big lights? girls screaming for your attention?"

I nodded excitedly

"Then let's do it" he patted me on the back
