Chapter 11: Double Date

"Everything okay Chlo?" Beca asks and I give a nod still looking in Megan's direction someway confused. We walk through the diner and towards the girls, I take my place beside Megan and Beca takes hers beside Leila, the two share a quick peck on the cheek and Megan goes to give me the same but I pull away before she can do anything. "Red it's okay, no one from campus is here alright?" I nod at Beca and apologize to Megan before kissing her temple which seems to make her a little happier but my insecurities are also acting up and making it hard for me to be there as her date. I guess I'm actually more nervous than Beca is.

"So how did you two get here?" Leila asks and Beca rolls her eyes and points towards me before resting her arm behind the other alt girl's head. "Well... I was going to drive but Chloe stopped me in case we go out somewhere because the party girl just can't control herself!"

Megan giggles and wraps an arm me and squeezes me a little and I tense up slightly. Beca notices then gives me a sad smile across the table, she knows I'm trying my best but there's only so much I can do, I mean this is my first ever date with a girl and I had to have Beca here because well, I'm more comfortable when she's with me. She can give me advice and teach me how not to act or tell me when I'm just being an idiot. "That's my girl!" Megan exclaims taking both myself and Beca as a surprise to which the brunette just sips her water our waitress brought over not too long ago. "So Beca, how's the band?" Leila asks her and I notice Megan's eyebrow arch a little as she smirks at my friend. "You're in a band?"

"Yeah! It's totally hot, the way she holds the neck of the bass, I just wish she'd grip my neck like that!"

Megan, myself and even Beca are taken aback by Leila's statement, the brunette is blushing extremely hard and Megan begins to giggle. As for me I'm speechless, I've never heard such a forward line on any date I've been on and on top of that I've never seen Beca go such a shade of pink or even become speechless before. It's quite amusing to watch actually, and very adorable if I do say so myself.

"I agree, girls in bands are so hot!" Megan exclaims and Beca takes the time to tell her that I'm in an acapella group on campus. "Well... although it'd still a music group, it's not really a band Chloe, that's like calling me a surgeon when I'm only a nurse! They're two completely different things baby."

"Woah hold up a minute-" Beca begins getting a little defensive after she notices my face soften a little. "Chloe is in a band, she plays acoustic guitar AND she has the voice of an angel. The Bellas are a group yes but some of them have formed a band for the battle of the bands contest and date I say it but they have what it takes. So don't diss Red's music abilities, she takes that stuff really seriously."

My mouth hung agape at Beca's comeback, no one has ever stood up for me like that before, literally no one and the fact that Beca did it, I mean the girl used to hate my guts and now she's become a really close friend of mine. "Woah Mitchell save some of the aggression for the bedroom will you?" Leila teases as she caresses Beca's face, the brunette takes a deep sigh and sips another little bit of her water before excusing herself to go to the bathroom. I decide to follow her and see if she's alright.

"Look Red I know what you're going to say, I embarrassed you on your first date and you wanna leave, I get it you can leave. I'm sorry."

"Actually I came to say thanks... sure what you said wasn't exactly how I'd put it but I mean you still stood up for me and Megan did kind of hurt my feelings so, thank you Beca I really appreciate it. You okay?"

The brunette nods and runs a hand through her hair before leaning over the sink to splash some cold water on her face. She looks back up a moment later and smirks to herself before quickly turning around. "Beale really?!" I begin to laugh before leaning my back against the wall. "Hey if you're allowed do it so am I, gotta say Mitchell looks like I'm not the only one with a booty."
