Setting the date

I remember that day very well. It was a cold Friday morning with ice hanging from the trees. But I guess we can flash back to when it all happened. It was a few months before my birthday so I decided I was going to the beach for it. It was a stupid idea but worth it all. I remember dating this girl named Mia, who was the best girl I could ever have in my life. I was thirteen at the time so it was before my 14th birthday at this point. 

My mom didn't know I was gay. And frankly, I was scared of telling her. Me and Mia had been on the phone for hours about my birthday. So I invited her since my mom loved her but she didn't know that we were dating. Me and Mia were going to do it at the same time but we thought it was too risky. So we agreed on a date to do it.

Mia:"When and how are we going to do this exactly?"

Me:"I think it should be at the party on the beach, you know?"

Mia:" Are you sure we should come out this early in the whole relationship?"

Me:" Yeah. She's going to find out anyway and besides, she really likes you. So don't worry. I'll take care of everything." 

Mia: "Ok. Bye then."

Me:"Bye. I love you"

Mia:"I love you too"

And the deal was sealed. We were coming out on my birthday as an official gay couple.
