Spiderman, Thor, Captain America... they all had what was once considered a 'Superpower' and yet in this new day and age, people like them are feared... People used to look up to them! Wanna be like them! Now that their childhood dreams have become a reality we are to be feared by the public, kept contained in a bubble like we're Zoo animals! I strive to be free one day, see more than the manky world of the dome... and yet it seems like no one is willing to subside their fearful beliefs and trust us...
I live in a world where people that used to be worshiped in the media are now feared as they have surpassed what was believed to be the limit of human evolution and evolved to gain superpowers or 'abnormalities' as the government calls us now.
We aren't aloud to argue with what they call us or else it's into the pit we go. You see, the pit is kinda like a rehabilitation centre but with a hell of a lot more brainwashing. My brother ended up there after deciding he got fed up of the humans controlling what he could and couldn't do with his life. I liked to believe that while Ray was inside the pit for the agonisingly lonely 4 months he would run riots, disobey the wardens and refuse to be brainwashed into an orderly government slave. The day he returned it seemed to be true, he came back the same dark haired goof that I'd seen enter the grey box of horror, until... he disappeared.
I woke up ready to start my day like Rey has never been gone but as I rushed into his room, slipping on the tiles of the kitchen floor with my bare little feet a wave of shock and horror was sent down my spine. The window next to his bed had been opened, his baby blue curtains blew gently with the breeze that was circulating in my brothers room and tears rolled down my petit face. My brother! The one person who I'd believed to be stronger willed than what the government bots could comprehend was gone.
For the next 2 months my parents and I searched high and low for any evidence of my brother being near or around our area of the Dome and yet nothing was found, I can honestly say to you that it felt like no one knew who he was and that shattered my heart into minute pieces.
This incident was 7 years ago and today, I Amora Cressler am starting senior year. The same year in which my brother went missing and I concluded that this was the year I finally put my abnormality to use and uncover the disappearance of my big brother with the aid of my friends. Of course I'll have to convince them first.
