Lawful Good
You do good by upholding the law because the law is good. Belief in truth and justice. There is a strong believe that order will uphold the best interest of all.
Example: Harry Potter - HermoineNeutral Good
Doing good (morally) is more important than upholding the law but the law is considered good.Basically just a good person. Heroes can often be classified as neutral good.
Example: SpidermanChaotic Good
Rebels and free spirits. All those rules and guidelines just get in the way of doing good. In fact, all these laws and rules can be bad for you and get in the way of honor. They enjoy opposing the tyrants.
Example: V for Vendetta - VLawful Neutral
Law and order above good or evil. Whatever happens, keep the order, even if it means punishing good people for minor misdemeanors. You don't question your orders and you don't go back on a contract.
Example: DeathTrue Neutral
Not on anybody's side. Either "keep the balance" or "don't care". Sometimes they simply don't know the difference between good or bad (such as animals without morals) or just want to be left alone and not be part of society or its rules.
Example: Hunger Games - SennaChaotic Neutral
Ultimate free spirits (sometimes lunatics) who don't care about morals. Above everything else, they care about freedom. They do what they like. How 'good' they end up being usually depends on which side is winning.
Example: PotC - Jack SparrowLawful Evil
Evil rule the world, through rules. They are structured and often scary successful. The bright side is, you're safe from them as long as you fit into their structure and stay under the radar.
Example: Harry Potter - Delores UmbridgeNeutral Evil
Self interest above all else, beyond that you can never be sure which way they will go in the end. Because they have self interest above all else, they can sometimes switch to the good guys side.
Example: Hannibal LechterChaotic Evil
Just want to see the world burn. They ignore the rules of society and do what they want, especially if it hurts other people. They may even take pleasure in going out of their own way to break the law.
Example: Batman - the joker.
