His hands were ice cold. They found their way around my neck one too many times. I squirmed and shook viciously. I prayed that with the constant tugging and pulling I could rip myself free. John would grin at each attempt of my struggling escape. Eventually I would tire myself out and he would sit across from me, rolling up his sleeves and resting his hands flat on his knees.

"Tsk, tsk, Deputy." He hissed. Staring straight into my hazy eyes. I could feel my head get heavy and my eyes seem to shut ever so slightly. Was I drugged? Or had I just worked myself up so much, my body was physically give out.

"Shut — the fuck up." I managed to mumble from my slurred speech. I tried once more to untangle my hands and kick my feet. I was helpless. I was finally accepting it.

"You are quite the fighter. I've been watching you squirm since you've woke up. Not giving up one bit," he bit down on his bottom lip, "until now." John lowered himself to my eye level. His hot breath pushed against my neck and his icy blue eyes peered deep into mine.

"Deputy, are you afraid of me?" John asked as his hands laid upon my bounded ones. I shook my head and thrashed a bit, trying so hard to wake myself up. "No, you son of... a bitch." I growled through my teeth and managed to open my eyes and glare straight into his. "Right you are. Both of my mothers were bitches, actually." He snickered and leaned backwards, moving away from my chair. He played with his watch wrapped tightly around his wrist and checked the time a few times.

"Why am I even here?" I hissed, never taking my eyes off of him. "You are here because that's what God intended." He smirked as he spoke. John wasn't religious. He was a control freak. A psycho. Joseph's project was just a way for him to let off some built up stress. I've read his backstory. I know his history. He was just a broken man.

"Actually Deputy," he finally stopped fiddling with his watch and looked back into my eyes. "You are here because you are sinful and that sin you carry is something I am utmost curious about." I furrowed my eyes and made a confused face. "You see. Your sin is 'Wrath'. I am much familiar with, as I too, use to be controlled by that sin." His smile was sinister and unpleasant. I watched his every move, as he paced back and forth, coming close and moving away even. "You act like you can judge me, like you can analyze me like some animal." I barked back at him. John stopped dead in his tracks and twirled around to look at me, smiling ear to ear. "My, my, Deputy." He squatted now, peering up to me. "I'm not judging you." He looked to the ground then back up to me.

"I'm fond of you."
