A/N- So, I wasn't planning on updating so soon but I've had a really rough couple of days and I really needed to escape for a while so I finished writing this instead. I hope y'all enjoy! 💛

"Well, Taylor Swift, would you care to show me where the registration office is? I have no clue where I'm going?" I let out a nervous chuckle as I try not to stare into the ocean blue eyes looking back at me. "Of course, let me give Em her backpack and I'll show you the way." She smiles, a light and airy laugh passing her lips as she starts gaining a little confidence. "It's a shame, I really thought the whole blue owl thing was a personal choice." I tease her as I follow her over to where her daughter is playing with her friends. "Watch it Kloss, it seems I'm your only friend around here." She laughs with a playful smirk and I arch a brow, "oh really? it didn't look like you were very friendly with the other moms either." She rolls her eyes and I know I've caught her out.

I wait a couple of steps behind as she approaches the little girl, smiling and waving when she looks over to me. My niece runs by and I call her over, "Willow, honey I'm going to the office to sign in, will you be okay until your teacher comes to collect you?" I hold her by the hand as she nods, "yes, auntie Kar." She smiles at me so I tell her, "good girl, be safe!" And I give her a little hug before letting her run off to rejoin her friends. "She's cute," I hear a laugh and look round to see the shorter blonde behind me, arms crossed as she smiles at me, "you seem good with her." She compliments as we start walking toward the entrance of the school and I nod as I bury my hands in my pockets. "My sister, Kristine, has two girls; Willow and Daisy. We co-own the bakery so they're around a lot, it's nice."

"So you like to bake?" She tries to start a conversation and I laugh a little as I nod, "I always have, ever since I was a little girl, I fulfilled my dream by opening the bakery." She gets a twinkle in her eye as I say that and I ask, "so what's your dream, Miss Swift?" A curious smirk masks how nervous I am being around her and she seems almost surprised by the question. "I wanted to be a songwriter." She smiles, looking down at her feet as she walks and I continue to play dumb. "So why didn't you do it?" I ask, trying to get her to open up a little, but I just receive a breathy laugh as she stares into my eyes, looking for any sign of me already knowing who she is.

"I did, I was signed to a label in Nashville when I was 16 and from then I released five albums and toured the world. It was everything I had ever hoped for, I was so happy..." she trails off at the end and I raise an eyebrow, "but?" I coax her to keep going and she shakes her head. "There isn't one. I left it all behind when I fell pregnant with Emilie. I wanted to give her a normal life; something she would never get if I kept making music. I still write and Em loves it when I play for her, so I never really lost anything and being her mom and seeing her grow up makes me happier than anything." Her smile tells one story, but the nostalgia in her eyes tells another.

"Would you ever go back to it?" I ask, purely out of curiosity. "Maybe one day, when Emilie is older, but I'll be a distant memory by that point, I haven't really been relevant for a while." She shrugs, seeming to be okay with it but it's kinda obvious she tells herself the same thing all the time. "Oh please, you're Taylor Swift? You could release something forty years from now and still be relevant." Her eyes widen and she laughs as I hold the door open for her, "you're sneaky, Kloss." She narrows her ocean blues at me and I can't help grinning, "hey, I never said I didn't know who you are." She rolls her eyes. "I'm not that Taylor Swift anymore, I'm just Taylor Swift, the boring regular everyday single mom to a five year old."

I chuckle as we stop outside he registration office. "You are far from boring, Taylor." Her cheeks fill with a crimson blush and I can't help smiling at how adorable she looks as she tries to hide it.
