New beginnings

Things couldn't get any worse ever since my mom dropped the big news I can't think straight. Being this is my last year of high school and having to choose a college to go to my head wont stop spinning. I just cant wait to hear my name and walk across the stage 'Tori K. Kingston '.

As I walked down stairs to see all the boxes were packed and my mom talking to one of the movers.

Mom " ... so just be careful with those boxes, please."

Me " Where's the little brat, so I can drop him off ?

Mom " No name calling Tori and he's in the car waiting. Remember when you get out to head over to the new place, ok? "

Me " Yeah ok. "

Mom " Have a good day its the last day look happy"

I know I should be more than happy that its my last day but this I have to much think about. On the way to school I stopped by my besties house to pick her up. She's been through it all with me and even though we had troubles but Aaliyah is the bestie. I honked the horn twice when she finally ran out we got rolling again.

Aaliyah " Girl what's with the little guy in the back."

Devin gave her a stank look in the mirror as she continued to talk.

" Oh I see he giving me the look. Haha but anyway how ya doing Tori? "

" I'm doing alright, I guess "

I pulled up to the elementary school and told my brother what's going after school then left. Minutes later we drove up to Phill McDonald high school and saw people standing around. Aaliyah got out first while I just sat there for a minute. I walked into the front office to pick up the rest of my graduation things then waited for Aaliyah to finish talking.

" Yeah, so im throwing a pre-grad kickback party tonight make sure you come we got bottles "

When she finally finished blabbing about her party we headed to the park to talk about it which I kinda got tired of. I really needed to talk to her about my big secret but I guess ill just let her talk, so she'll be I'm a listening mood.

" Aight, so you gone be there right I mean your my best and it won't be the same without you. We gone turn up "

" Yeah you know I am. But I really need to tell you something but you can't tell anyone "

" Girl you know I'm you bestie we tell each other everything. Remember my little accident junior year? Yeah I hope you kept that a secret. But come on tell me "

" Alright haha that was funny though but okay. 'sigh' I'm Gay "

She sat there like she knew and she was waiting for me to say it. But I'm happy I got it off my chest and told her.

" I knew it, Like sophomore year I knew I was just wanted you to tell me. "

" I'm guessing it was pretty obvious huh ? "

" Yess very but I'm glad you said and I support you on this . You know I'm here for you 7 years strong and holding on "

" Yass boo boo "

We laughed for awhile and talked about how were going to miss people and how we can't wait to leave for college. I still had one problem. How the hell was I gone tell my mom her little girl is gay. I imagine it so many times and it ended the same way every time with her throwing a Bible. Then locking me in my room.

Hopefully ill find the courage to tell her then run away. As I drove Aaliyah home I made my way to pick up my brother.

" Tori, can I ask you something? "

I looked at him weirdly and nodded my head.

" Are you going to miss me and mom "

" Of course, I am. "

" Don't smile and get all mushy on me gosh. "

I laughed and thought about how different its going to be when I leave. Waking up without my moms cooking and my little brother running around the house. Well life is full of changes and my mom is in for a rude awaking.

We pulled up to the house and walked in to the smell of my favorite meal : steak, salad,and peach cobbler.

" Hey Tori I thought since graduation is in two days I fix your favorite meal "

She doesn't know how hard she's making this I really need to tell her and I need to tell her soon. We sat down to eat and it was awkward as hell I felt like I was sweating bullets. I opened my mouth but the only thing I said was

" Mom liyah is throwing a pre-grad party can I go? "

She nodded and I got up from the table then went up stairs. I plopped on my bed face first thinking about how I'm going to tell her but then my phone started to ring. It was Aaliyah.

" Girl you coming or nah ? "

" Yeah I'm getting dress then I'm going to head out, ight ? "

" Ight hurry up "

I got dress then headed to the party. Lights were flashing and music was blasting. I made my way to the door and the party was live. Aaliyah spotted me and ran over to me with this cute girl by her.

" Glad you could make it, why you trying to look fresh ? Trying to impress who "

" I'm aways fresh girl you know that, but um who's that "

" Thought you might ask that. This is Camryn and she's yanno like you."

" like me? Ooh. You trying to set me up. "

Suddenly the girl spoke up and her voice was amazingly beautiful. She could talk to me all day long.

" Not a set up. I mean I saw you in school and I thought you were cute and " fresh " . I knew Aaliyah was your friend and I asked her to make sure you came tonight. "

I tried to hide my smile but it was a ear to ear type of smile.

" Oh really well I'm here "

" That you are. So you wanna dance? Talk? Something? "

" We can go somewhere and talk "

" Okay you two can talk in my room "

Its like Aaliyah wanted me to jump on this girl and kiss her all the way down. Talking in private leads to wonderful things if you know what I mean. We walked to her room and sat on the bed closely. She started to talk.

" So Tori what do you think of me "

" Well uh your definitely cute as hell and actually I know you from home economics "

" Yes I know but I never thought you noticed me "

" oh I noticed you alright, I sent you a note one day "

" That was you? Awe you were so shy "

" Yeah that was me but now that we know each other . I kinda wanted to ask you something "

" Well go ahead "

" Will you go out with me? if not its cool "

" Yes of course I will "

I leaned in for a kiss and just when I thought she was going to pull away she pulled me closer till she was on top of me . This felt right and I really liked her, as much I wanted to really enjoy this I couldn't stop thinking of my mom. Yess it was very weird but it was how I was going to tell her but my thoughts got interrupted when she reached for my belt.
