I sat on my throne as I look at the five men that begged me with their eyes to accept them. My eyes were as cold as steel. They weren't worthy. All I could see in their hearts was greed and the want for power. They weren't even worth the time I took out my schedule to see them. Disgusting men. Lustful eyes and hungry souls couldn't escape my view.
I allowed my power and dominance to radiate from me. If they were my true mate, no matter what power I released, they'd never cower. And that's just what these insects did.
The power I emitted cause them to shift unwillingly and bare their throats and bellies as they rolled over on their backs in submission.
"Just as I thought. Now get out of my sight before I rip you open!" My eyes flashed black with anger as I threated them. All five of them stumbled over one another as they try to escape out the door all at once, tails between their legs. How puny and weak they are.
When I was sure they were gone, my shoulders slumped. I knew the moment they entered my castle that they were trash who didn't deserve the time of day. Damn my advisors. Even if I loathe them with every fiber of my being, if an alpha requests an audience with me, I must allow it.
I wanted one of them to be my mate. I want to find that one person who could never fear me, hate me, or hurt me. Wanted someone who wanted me and not the name I possess. I know my fated one is out there. I feel them.
I heard a knock on the large door. It echoed in the mostly empty room.
"My Queen? You have a letter from the council. They request your attendance to a gathering in the town of Midland." A server opened the door but didn't enter. He knew better than to, especially after a mating interview. I gestured for him to bring it to me and he quickly did so and retreated back to the safety of the hallway.
"Will that be all, Samson?" I questioned coldly. I have no intention of attending. Just high powers trying to get more power from me.
"Well," he faltered then continued, "I've heard a rumor that the local bakery in Midland will be catering. I know that the Palm bakery is My Queens' favorite ever since she was young. I'm afraid that if you don't RSVP soon, you won't get in, despite your position." His eyes stayed downcast and head bowed. He's aware of how close he is to overstepping his limits as a server. But he wasn't wrong.
I remained quiet for a moment, debating. I could have their desserts anytime I want, but there's one thing that I can't have unless I go. A specialty dish that they only bake for events. It was a simple chocolate pastry, but I could taste every bit of love and devotion in every bite. I could easily order the bakery to just bake it for me...but it would ruin the essence of it. Damn Samson. He's found one of my weaknesses.
"My Queen?" I was silent for too long.
"Samson...tell them to save a space for me. I'm considering going." I had every intention of going.
It was small and barely there, but he smiled. He knew I did as well.
"Very well, My Queen, I'll inform them swiftly." He debated his words before speaking once more. "I pray I'm not overstepping my bounds, but perhaps you will find a proper husband at the gathering. Many alphas will be attending so hopef-" He was cut off by my loud growl of anger and a shattering vase that struck the wall just above him.
"Do not speak of husbands to me, cretin!" I seethe. My eyes turn black and my claws burst from my fingertips.
"I-I'm terribly sorry, My Queen! I mean no offense. I assumed it would put you at ease considering the trouble you seem to have to find one!" He stumbled back as he bowed his head. I could hear the crunch of broken glass under his shoes. His usually calm demeanor was shattered. His pale blue eyes shown fear and his greying hair fell slightly out of place cause of how low he held his head.
"You assume wrong! Now leave! My marital status is no business of yours!" I boomed. He quickly left, but not before shutting my door.
I stood and kicked a chair with all my force, launching it across the room and more chairs soon followed it. My roars of fury filled the room until there was no more furniture to destroy.
I stood in the middle of the destruction huffing and panting, anger slowly ebbing until finally, I could feel nothing but numbness. My face was wet.
I brought my hand up to wipe my face. It was stained with tears.
One hundred years I've searched. One hundred years froze at the age of 23. Why must I be cursed like this? When will I find the one who will save me?
Tell me honestly what you think. The idea to write this was brought on by a whim and a crush I have on a girl. Lol.
